Hello everyone!
There has been a longer than usual break in between updates as we are amidst the creative chaos of recruiting new promising NED team members (soon our team will expand to 17 people!). We know you are all looking forward to the road map, but the process of recruiting new team members for NED resulted in some time constraints. While we are working diligently to release the road map as soon as possible, we are also prioritizing the swift onboarding of new members.
However, we’d like to assure you that our work is still going strong, and we've made significant progress over the last month and a half.
We've been working on Virtual Tabletop (VTT), which allows you to establish sessions, control Game Master roles, perform dice rolls, chat with participants, whisper and whisper roll and move minis right from your PC.
We took your feedback from Tech Alpha to the heart and introduced a completely new camera system. Instead of the three cameras, we now have two:
📷 Top Down View, which allows you to view the NED in 2D;
📷 Free Cam View, which allows you to view the NED from different angles.
They are also far more intuitive and easier to control thanks to overhauled key bindings.
We are about to finish dungeon planning from both design and graphical standpoints. We’ve spent a lot of time making blockouts, to test out how our system performs both in action and style. Thanks to that, we are able to easily root out potential issues and make sure that we are heading in the right direction. Now that we are reaching the conclusion of the design phase, we will focus on improving the dungeon as much as possible and add even more features and assets to make it a complete and enjoyable experience.
In the meantime, we are starting to work on a new iteration of the map generation system. Additionally, we are simultaneously working on teaching our AI model even more things, specifically content processing.
We've also designed The Fog of War, which is based
Hey!
I know you probably wanted better news, but we have news only bittersweet. Technically we are almost ready to show the alpha version; nevertheless, we are not satisfied with the generation results, and we have to redesign some systems. This is the more bitter part :)
For those who are persistent and would like to help us in development, we want to invite you to test the so-called "technical alpha." This means that absolutely what is generated is not the results we want to achieve, but you can help us test what is already there. You can also, of course, use this version already to play:
For those most persistent, we have prepared a form: https://bit.ly/3QIOoPt
Just enter your e-mail address with which you are registered on KS, and to this e-mail address, we will send you the keys to Steam as the technical alpha will be ready to show. Of course, this is an option for those who have chosen the early access option.
We'd also like to invite you to our server on Discord dedicated to Never Ending Dungeon. Where we'll be uploading more content, progress updates, and insider secrets on how what we're doing works from the inside!
The invitation is available here: https://bit.ly/3eKEkbg
Regarding what we are doing in the project:
📍 Correcting technical and graphical (mainly light) errors in the generation
📍 Improvements in algorithms for generating tasks and maps.
As we wrote in the introduction, we are unsatisfied with the current generation results. For those interested in more technical terms - Never Ending Dungeon initially creates a task seed (you've seen examples of these in previous updates). Based on this seed, a map and content are created. All the generated elements are "thrown" into the neural network so that it learns to make them on its own. (Currently, the most advanced work is on generating the seed, and the map and content are still generated without AI). Currently, we are redesigning how the map should form to be more interesting and p

Hello everyone!
The work on Alpha continues. Over the past month, we have done a lot of work on assets. We worked in terms of producing new materials as well as integrating them into the editing model (here, we had small problems, but they have been resolved). We hope to be able to deliver Alpha for you at the end of August!
Keep your fingers crossed!!! 🤞
And what we struggled with, which is the integration of all assets into the Dungeon setting (see video below).
In addition, we added to NED:
📍 Grid (you can choose color and transparency)
📍 Search System so you can navigate easier in the asset library (still work in progress)
📍 Saving and loading dungeon
📍Export to Roll20
Thank you for being with us!!! <3
Hello everyone!
For the last month, we have been working hard on Alpha. Lots of testing and tweaking of minor things, as well as less minor ones ;) Alpha is right around the corner; we are targeting next month.
On the programming side, we focused on debugging and connecting the UI to the story engine. In addition, we did a lot of asset fixes to make it work properly in build mode. And a lot of monotonous work in excel, yay :)
Since the last time we show you the UI, a lot has changed, so take a look a the video below. :)
It's still a work in progress, so you may see a few bugs here and there ;)
From the feature stuff, we added:
📍 the option to turn the light on and off,
📍 collision of objects at ground level:
📍 objects snapping to the wall.
Thanks for reading! <3
Hello everyone!
Nice to see you guys before Easter. We've got another dungeon news update and a new NED video for you. In this video, you can see the dungeon generation in the almost final version. Ahead of us is integrating adventure generation, editing the map already after generation, adding NPCs, monsters, traps, and exporting to Roll20. The first beta is getting closer and closer - you'll soon be able to use our maps for sessions! 🤩
Thanks for watching! Hope you like it. We added new interface and played around with walls a little bit more. On the programming side of things we still working on algorithms for both map and adventure generation and started working on prison generation.
In terms of graphics, as always, we focused on asset production and decided to spice up the walls. Below you can see some of them in the video. They certainly give a fantastic vibe and bring the dungeon to life :)
Thank you for being with us! 🥰
Hello everyone!
A big milestone is behind us this week. After an uphill struggle and a Covid sickness of half of the team, we're back on track and rolling.
Below is a video of the map generation module already working!!!
Thanks for watching. ☺️ We hope you enjoyed it. Now we're working on the programming side of things:
📍our algorithms for map generation,
📍the algorithms for generating the adventure content,
camera handling,
📍the interface to the application,
📍exporting generation results to various formats.
Alpha version for those who chose early access package coming soon. Stay tuned for updates!
On the graphics side of the dungeon, we'll improve the walls, damage on the floor, add debris, and new models. Later on, we'll start another setting - the cave.
Soon there will also be another promotional material with the official launch of the product card on Steam!
Keep your fingers crossed. We're on the right track; thank you for being with us, for your enthusiasm and patience :)
Hello everyone!
Pssst, we wanna show you something. For now, we're leaving a little sneak peek, and you can expect more next week. Brace yourselves; it's going to be exciting! 💫
Hey!
Nice to see you again before the Christmas break. We're working hard to bring you the first adventures and maps generated with Never Ending Dungeon as soon as possible! 😊
We know it doesn't look impressive right now, but it's a big milestone from a technical perspective. Ula, our Unity programmer, generated this map based on information provided from a generator created by Jacek, so we have the first combination of our AI and display system. From now on, get ready for some big updates soon because this is a huge step forward!
Animations and graphics are, of course, work in progress.
On the AI side - Jacek who is developing his own deep learning solution, has analyzed hundreds of source materials to create the first generator for dungeon goblin adventures. We already have the first results - in the next update, you will be able to see and give feedback on how smart our AI is <3 There is a lot to look forward to!
Thank you for being with us! 🥰
Never Ending Dungeon on Indiegogo!
We've been so caught up in the whirlwind of work that we're just getting started with the continuation of the campaign! We know that many of you have been waiting for this! We hope to have many new backers join us as well!
Today, right now, you can support us on Indiegogo with an ongoing InDemand campaign. What does this mean?
We wanted you to be able to continue to support us so that we can grow the project. The InDemand campaign allows us to keep reaching new and bigger Stretch Goals! Thanks to our joint efforts, Never Ending Dungeon will be even bigger!
As you can see from our updates, our plans are bigger than when we started the campaign. Let's build the best RPG session support software together!
The campaign on Indiegogo will continue until the release of Never Ending Dungeon!
For the continuation of our campaign, we have prepared new reward thresholds. Unfortunately, we have discontinued physical rewards for the Indiegogo campaign. The reason for this, unfortunately, is the ever-increasing production costs of physical rewards and shipping costs. But rest assured - remember that everything you create in Never Ending Dungeon will be available to print, upload to VTT, or on your TV!
If you'd like to change anything in your Kickstarter order, we'll be releasing a Pledge Manager for that next year.
In the meantime, tell your friends that you can join Never Ending Dungeon!!!
Hello everyone!
There are just 48 hours left and two more Stretch Goals are lurking around the corner - Customizing NPCs and Your assets in NED.
As you are doing so well with supporting the campaign - we have a surprise for you! We decided to show you what the dungeon looks like from a first-person perspective.
All the monsters, treasures, and traps seem so close... Now you can really feel the atmosphere of the Never Ending Dungeon!
And how do you like that? Pretty cool, huh? :)
If you still haven't backed NED and have any doubts feel free to contact us! We will gladly answer all your questions and address all of yours concerns :) There are only 48 hours left in the campaign and we don't want you to miss your opportunity!
