** WUCA WORLD CUP CHAMPION 2024 **
The 2024 World Cup might have been the hardest fought yet and we are delighted to announce that after a year of incredible performances from all our competitors our new World Cup Champion is Marek Rupiński!
Marek’s campaign for the World Cup got off to a great start with a first-place finish at the Florida 500, followed by winning performances at Sebring and Race Around Denmark. His successful 3000km Poland to Portugal record attempt earned him vital points and sealed his victory as our new champion.
He had stiff competition throughout the year from Arvis Sprude, who put in some incredible races and record attempts, including the Highest Weekly Mileage Record (HWMR). Arvis traded first position with Marek various times throughout the year and earned second place with only one point difference between them.
Ingolf Micklisch put in a very strong performance to gain his position in third place on our leader board, including outstanding results at Psycho48, Longhorn 500 and RAAM.
Congratulations also to Valerio Zamboni and Marco Rieder, who were in fourth and fifth positions respectively.
World Cup Ranking is based on a point system, recognizing competitive success in two timed events (12 and 24-hour) and two fixed-distance events (750-1500km and 1500-3000/3000+km), determining the best ultra-cyclists in the world.
Even completing the requirements for the World Cup is a huge challenge and we congratulate our new champion Marek and all our 2024 competitors. We look forward to another great competition this year!
