THORGAL UPDATE
We want to address an important matter regarding the VAT charges that appeared when we launched Thorgal RPG Pledge Manager. We we want to clarify that the VAT was not an option set by us but was automatically calculated by Gamefound during the setup process.
We are well aware that VAT rates for books are typically lower, and we have already reached out to Gamefound to discuss the situation. Right now, we are waiting for their response, and we will do everything in our power to find a resolution that is in your best interest.
For now, we kindly ask you to refrain from finalizing your pledge in the Pledge Manager until we receive clarification from Gamefound. If you have already completed your payment, do not worry—we are committed to finding a solution for everyone affected.
We appreciate your patience and support. As soon as we have more information, we will update you immediately.

Hello, all!

Today’s update is brief but significant!

We’d like to let you know that you have until November 14 to secure the crowdfunding version of Thorgal: The Roleplaying Game! After this date, we’ll be closing the campaign’s Late Pledge and launching the Pledge Manager on November 15.

Why is this important? It signals that we're nearing completion of the core rulebook. The English translation is ready (though we apologize to our French version backers, who’ll have a bit longer to wait). We're just awaiting approval on a few pieces of artwork we had to create ourselves, as some original graphic materials were inaccessible—but rest assured, 98% of the artwork is by Grzegorz Rosiński!

Thank you for your patience! We hope the game itself will make the wait worthwhile!

All according to the plan - the next step is opening the Late Pledge in early August. Pledge Manager will be open later this year, of which we will inform you 2 weeks in advance. The game itself should be shipped to you in February 2025.

Hello all!

Day 21 of the Jomsvikings campaign means we unlock a new stretch goal!

Equipment deck is enriched with 6 unique equipment cards - Destiny Analysis implant, Thall Armor, a shield called Svalinn, Niflheimian Converter, Gungnir - a spear of Odin, and a boar - Hildisvini.

We're ready to announce that with a new unlocked stretch goal a new character joins the Jomsvikings - Thormod, the jaeger!

With this stretch goal, all backers from Mercenary and Veteran pledges will receive a character card with Thormod, the unfailing jaeger, along with a standee. Moreover, Veteran backers will get a miniature of Thormod as well!

During each of the sagas, the heroes in the Jomsviking game will go to one of the planets to fight monsters there, which will bring them glory 🤩

🌍🌕 Conditions on the planets are definitely different from each other, modifying the rules of fight a bit.
Therefore, at the beginning of the saga, one planet card will be drawn, which will indicate on which of the planets the fight will take place and what modifications are associated with it - it can be, for example, a bonus to glory for defeating a monster, strengthening healing effects (both characters and monsters) and many others!

In the Jomsvikings game, apart from character boards and battle boards, there is also a main board with the Yggdrasil Tree. In this post, we'll discuss how it works.

➤ On the Yggdrasil Tree, the position of the character will be represented by stands or figures in the case of the deluxe edition (available only during the campaign on Gamefound).

➤➤ At the beginning of each saga, each character will move 1 step up the Tree, but the movement will also be possible thanks to the cards effects and the ability of some characters.

When a character moves into (or passes through) the step of the Tree, the player considers the effect of that field. There are 3 effects possible:

➕/➖
The player draws one combat card from the market and shuffles it to the deck OR removes one card from his deck.

➕+➖
The player draws one combat card from the market and shuffles it to the deck AND removes one card from his deck.

🍯 - 3 hex symbol (resembling a honeycomb)
The player draws 3 reward tokens from the bag, chooses one of them, and returns the remaining ones to the bag. The reward token can be/give:
- Gullveig token
- Thor's token
- Fixed +1 damage bonus
- Increase the value of one parameter permanently by 1

In addition, some fields of the Yggdrasil tree have glory points or a helmet symbol. After entering such a field, the player, in addition to considering the field action, also receives glory points or in the case of a helmet symbol - selects one of the cards from the equipment market.

In the Jomsvikings game, at the beginning of each saga, players draft one equipment card out of 3 cards available on the inventory market. In addition, they can acquire their equipment by card effects and the abilities of some characters.

In the case that none of the available cards appeals to the player, he can spend one Gullveig token 💰 to discard all the cards from the market and fill the empty fields with new ones.

The equipment card contains the following information:

🏷️ Equipment type 🏷️
The equipment type may be related to the effects of other cards and abilities. In addition, there is a limit of cards of a given type owned at the same time - which reflects realism (after all, the character has only two hands and one torso). According to the limits, the character may have:
- 1 weapon,
- 1 shield,
- 1 armor,
- any number of artifacts, companions and implants,

🎁 Bonus 🎁
When the character is wearing a given item, it modifies its parameters (e.g. fighting style, health) or adds keywords (e.g. speed).

🏅 Glory Points 🏅
At the end of the game, players add to their score the sum of the glory points that are printed on the currently owned equipment cards.

💥 Card Ability 💥
The inventory card may have a passive ability or one that is activated by placing a exhaustion token on it - as long as it has not already been depleted.
