Yesterday, I was privileged to attend the Karachi AI Meetup #18, which exceeded my expectations. The event focused on AI in the Automotive Industry and the revolution in Large Language Models (LLMs). Standby for a complete video on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 9 PM, where I'll share my experience and insights from the organizers. Big Shoutout to Team Karachi AI, Mesum Raza Hemani and Mustafa Ali, your hard work and efforts made this wonderful and informative meetup successful.
In the first half, we explored AI in the Automotive Industry:
Ammad Nadeem, CEO of VisionRD, led us into the world of self-driving cars and AI-based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), showcasing the mind-boggling future of transportation.
Noman Sarwar, a Lecturer at Hamdard University, delved into predictive maintenance and user experience, revealing how AI is reshaping the automotive industry.
Mirza Umer Saleem, VP of Engineering at Trukkr, highlighted the significance of route optimization, traffic management, and governance, offering valuable logistics insights.
In the second half, the spotlight was on Large Language Models:
Arhum I., Co-Founder of ConnectHear, introduced newcomers to the LLM revolution, making it accessible and intriguing. You certainly named ChatGPT thrice in your talk. But trust me you were awesome I enjoyed it.
Huzaifa Kamran , a Data Engineer at TMC (TallyMarks Consulting), discussed how LLMs are reshaping the future of software development, unveiling mind-blowing features in programming tools. GitHub co-pilot you showed was amazing.
Lastly, Mesum Raza Hemani, Founder of Karachi AI and VP of Analytics at NBP Funds provided a beautiful explanation of data management tools and customization.
Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Arif, Project Director, National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP) Karachi, delivered a closing note emphasizing the significance of AI in today's world and a motivation to learn in future.
Pakistan is, Alhumdulillah rich in tech talent and all forms of unique skills. This event showcased Pakistan's incredible AI talent. However, events like this prove that with the proper support, Pakistani youth can achieve remarkable results through creativity.
The enthusiasm of the young attendees was palpable. They actively engaged with the speakers, took diligent notes, participated in Q&A sessions, and networked. It's a testament to the thirst for knowledge and the bright future that awaits Pakistan's AI community.
Conclusion:
Karachi AI Meetup #18 left me inspired and hopeful about the future of AI in Pakistan. The organizers' dedication, the speakers' expertise, and the audience's hunger for knowledge made it an unforgettable experience.
Let's continue supporting and nurturing Pakistan's incredible AI talent to reach new heights.
