Communication & Media Studies arranged two days training workshop with the collaboration of ICRC International Committee of the Red Cross at Hazara University Mansehra - HU

Around 50 students participated in this two days training where students were briefed on the history and domains of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Media and Communication officer of the ICRC Mr. Aezaz ur Rehman opened and introduces the session’s activities.

Head of communication and media studies department Dr. Shujaat Ali Khan delivered a presentation on news, its components, ingredients and taking interviews, and crafting features.
faculty member Mr. Azhar Rasheed took a session on digital media and marketing.

Mr. Waseem Ahmad member of ICRC delivered a detailed presentation on the history and mandate of ICRC and its operation in Pakistan. He further guided the participants on how a humanitarian organization works in a different situation.

There were also some refreshment breaks after the break Zeeshan Anwar media and Communication officer ICRC, guided and trained the students on video production and mobile journalism practically. Mr. Zeeshan Anwar divided students into different teams and gave them a project to script a story, plan it, record it and then edit it. All the students worked very excitedly.

As cyber security is one of the main and important topics to know so for this Mr. Salman Ali Shah gave a detailed presentation on digital and cyber security.

In the end, all the participants were awarded the certificate of participation and had a group photo with the ICRC team and faculty of the communication and media studies department.
