Karachi, October 26, 2022: On a consolidated basis, Lucky Cement Limited has reported a profit after tax of PKR 6.9 billion, for Q1 FY23, of which PKR 1.5 billion is attributed to non-controlling interests. The resultant earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter comes out to PKR 16.85. Moreover, on a consolidated basis, the Company attained a gross revenue of PKR 107.2 billion which is 54.8% higher than the revenue for the Same Period Last Year (SPLY), PKR 69.3 billion....

Pakistan: Thatta Cement recorded net sales of US$19.1m during its 2022 financial year, up by 75% year-on-year from US$10.9m in its 2021 financial year. This included gross export sales of just US$3160, down by 99% from US$394,000 in the 2021 financial year. Thatta Cement's total cost of sales increased by 96% to US$18.1m from US$9.24m. Its raw material costs tripled to US$1.64m from US$546,000, while its fuel and power costs more than doubled to US$12.5m from US$5.89m....

Nonetheless, it recorded a comprehensive loss of US$2.06m, compared to an income of US$1.58m in the 2021 financial year. The company's cost of sales rose by 35% to US$67.2m from US$49.8m.

RIYADH: Saudi-based cement producer Al Jouf Cement Co. suffered a 93 percent decline in profits during the first half of 2022, due to a downward trend in cement prices and sales. Al Jouf Cement Co., which is based in the northwest of the Kingdom, saw its profits reach SR1.8 million ($479,208), down from SR26 million in the prior-year period, its bourse filing shows. This was accompanied by a 19 percent plunge in revenues, from SR122 million in the previous period to SR98 million.
