# # # 🌟 A Turning Point for Pakistan's Judiciary 🌟
For the first time in Pakistan's history, our judiciary is boldly standing up to the powerful security establishment, signaling a monumental shift in our political landscape. Since the pivotal February 8 elections, judges who once remained silent about the interference of intelligence agencies are now courageously reclaiming their independence.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has led the charge, with judges openly questioning the conduct of serving military officers. Their brave stance, highlighted in a letter to the Supreme Judicial Council, has inspired other high court judges to acknowledge similar pressures. This wave of judicial assertiveness is creating ripples across the nation.
Despite Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa's silence, the judiciary has successfully pressured executive authorities to the point where a high-level meeting was held in the Prime Minister's Office to initiate dialogue with judges. However, legal experts believe that genuine change requires confidence-building measures from the government.
Lahore High Court Chief Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan has also taken bold steps, further irking the government and the security establishment. Meanwhile, the PTI, with its massive public support, stands as the biggest beneficiary of this tussle, reflecting the changing political dynamics.
The media landscape is divided, with anti-Imran Khan sentiments dominating. Yet, the judiciary’s resolve to address sensitive matters and challenge powerful interests remains strong.
As Chief Justice Isa nears retirement, the judiciary’s stance against undue influence marks a critical juncture. It's time for the executive and security establishments to recognize this shift and adopt a reconciliatory approach to ensure stability and justice in Pakistan.
Let’s support a judiciary that stands for independence and the rule of law. 🇵🇰⚖️
