𝗙𝗼𝗿: Researchers at Undergraduate, Post Graduate and PhD levels

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆: Research & Research based Article Publishing - "Education Sector only"

This is to announce that the researchers and students of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs from Pakistani Universities interested in collecting realistic data but face problems at getting it from the schools during active hours (as normally schools don't allow them) can conduct their research at our upcoming The Thinking Schools (Model Campuses only) with all freedom and support from the administration and Pakistan ASCD team.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:

1. They should submit their research proposals.

2. They must mention the names of supervisors (if any) with their consent.

3. One teacher from respective model campus of The Thinking School must be part of their research and must be acknowledged in their publication as 2nd or 3rd author (criteria on merit).

4. Acknowledgement of The Thinking School's support in their manuscripts.

5. Research papers must be published to high ranking and leading journals and magazines such as ASCD Educational Leadership magazine etc.

6. A bond will be signed between Pakistan ASCD and the Researcher that the data collected at our place will be considered our intellectual property and will never be sold out or leaked.

Public Information Desk - Official Press Release.

We are grateful to our followers, educators worldwide and The Thinking School by Pakistan ASCD community for the great support and patience in our hardest of times.

On 2nd January, our official pages ''Pakistan ASCD'' and ''The Reformer'' went through a cyber attack and got hacked by local and international hackers.
With immensely credible efforts of our IT team and experts, first The Reformer's and today Pakistan ASCD's official pages are not only recovered but the footprints of the hackers have been traced.

A complaint against the alleged criminals has already been launched in cyber crime wing, Federal Investigation Agency, Islamabad. We will disclose all details once the investigations are complete and the criminals get behind the bars. It is, however, clear that this was a deliberate and collaborative effort to insidiously steal our identity, and upon failure, to sabotage and destroy our reputation.

We thank all for your prayers and we continue our commitment to educational excellence and adding values to the society through our work.

Dr Laeeq Aslam is currently working as Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT), University of the Punjab, Lahore. He did his PhD in Computer Science from University of the Punjab and MS in Computer Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore. His current areas of interest include Graph Theory, Algorithms, Internet of Things, Machine to Machine Communication, and Machine Learning.

Dr Rebecca Stobaugh has been a principal and middle and high school teacher. She is the author of five books: Assessing Critical Thinking in Elementary Schools, Assessing Critical Thinking in Middle and High Schools, Real-World Learning in Secondary Schools, Real-World Learning in Elementary Schools, and critical Thinking in the Classroom. She received a PhD from the University of Louisville. Currently, she serves as an associate professor at Western Kentucky University, teaching assessment and unit-planning courses in the teacher education program.

MEET THE AUTHOR:
Brenda Mendoza of Chicago is a K-12 ELL specialist in West Aurora School District 129. The mother of four received her Bachelors of Arts in Education degree from Trinity Christian College. She obtained her Bilingual and ESL endorsements from the University of Aurora. Her first Master’s degree was in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in English Language and Bilingual Education. Her second Master’s degree was in educational leadership. Brenda has been teaching for twelve years as an ELL and Bilingual educator in grades K-6. During ten of those years, she instructed as a 2nd and 4th-grade Bilingual teacher. Brenda had the honour of being nominated Kane County Teacher of the Year. She received the Kane County Distinguished Educator Award. Mendoza was nominated People’s/Target All-Star Teacher and was also nominated by The Golden Apple Foundation for excellence in teaching. In 2015, Brenda became an ASCD emerging leader. She currently teaches fourth grade bilingual, coordinates family literacy workshops for coaches, educators, and is Illinois ASCD’s Whole Child Leader.

Meet The Author:
Walter McKenzie is Senior Director for Constituent Services at ASCD, leading its affiliate, connected community, professional interest community, student chapter and emerging leader programs. In this role, he supports ASCD governance, education policy and educator advocates, the Whole Child and Healthy School Communities initiatives. He is a strong proponent of using social media technologies to transform organizations as they strive to meet the needs of their members in the 21st century.

In addition to his work in public education, McKenzie is an internationally known author and presenter on multiple intelligences theory and instructional technology, and he has authored several books on these subjects. A 25 year veteran in public education, he has been proudly working on behalf of ASCD members for 9 years.

ED-NEWS ALERT: Punjab government has canceled the registration of 29 schools for non-compliance with the Supreme Court’s orders for renewed fee structures.

Late in October, Education Minister Punjab Murad Raas had warned all private schools to revise their fee structures as per directives of the Apex Court. He had given a seven-day deadline, which was later extended by another seven days.

At the end of the deadline, the provincial minister canceled the registration of 29 private schools in Lahore that did not comply.

ED-NEWS ALERT: The government is working on a commercial policy for universities to make them self-sufficient. This was revealed during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Science and Technology, which met with Mushtaq Ahmad Khan in the chair.

The HEC is likely to approve the policy by the end of the current month.

ED-NEWS ALERT: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has struck down demands of increasing the school fee against the order of the apex court.

Following the ruling, any illegal hike in fees would be considered null and void. Private school fees will now be reverted to January 2017’s rates.

A three-judge bench while hearing petitions regarding exuberant fee increase by private schools passed this judgment on Friday. The bench comprised of Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Faisal Arab.

In a 65-page verdict, the top court said that private schools had “excessively increased fee since 2017 in violation of the law” and that the additional amount should be “struck down.”

ED-NEWS ALERT: Punjab government has reportedly decided to hand over two thousand government schools to local non-government organizations (NGOs).

As per media reports, the procedural work for the handover has already been started.

Meanwhile, multiple NGOs have approached the provincial government requesting no-objection certificates (NOCs) for taking charge of these schools.

The teachers’ association in Punjab, on the other hand, has rejected the decision calling it a breach of their contracts. They have threatened to launch massive protests across the province against the development.

ED-NEWS ALERT: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government is going to synchronize the entire education system to create social harmony in the country. He was speaking at a prize distribution ceremony among Madrassah students in Islamabad.

He regretted that three different educational systems are running in the country, creating injustice and divisions in society.

To counter this situation, Khan said, the government is going to introduce a uniform curriculum to create equal opportunities for everyone. He hoped that the graduates of the new education system will be well-versed in religion, science, and technology.

PM Khan shed light on the glorious past of Muslims in the field of education. He mentioned how Muslims ruled the fields of science and arts before the downfall started.

ED-NEWS ALERT: The annual matric results of Karachi have exposed the claims of the Sindh government’s supposedly effective education policies. As per results, only 9 percent of students from public schools have passed matric exams this year.

While the Sindh government claims to have spent billions of rupees to improve public schools, it has not translated into results so far.
