Terrorist attack on a passenger bus traveling on the Karakoram Highway in Chilas, Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan, resulted in 8 confirmed deaths and injuries to over 2 dozen passengers. The bus operated by K2 Movers was traveling from Gahkuch, Ghizer, to Rawalpindi.

A magnitude 6.8 strikes . According to EMSC, China reports a magnitude 7.3 earthquake near the border with Tajikistan.

Tremors were reported from Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, northern Afghanistan, and Islamabad, Pakistan.

Awami Workers Party (AWP) leader Sultan Madad and rights activist Hasnain Ramal have been detained in Gilgit days after a terrorism incident in Gilgit city took lives of two and left over a dozen injured. According to social media reports, the two have been detained at Jutial Police Station after being picked from their homes late at night on Tuesday.

Funeral prayers of Zia Ul Karim, the deceased folk musician from Hunza Valley, to be held on Saturday 18 June 2022 at 10:00 in Altit Hunza.

Zia Ul Karim had met a tragic accident in Garelt, Hunza, hours after leading a musical performance for the President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi.

He was a graduate of the National College of Arts where he majored in musicology. Zia also revived and brought major changes to the traditional instrument of Xheghini.
