MSNC team along with JICA technical team visited stabilisation centre Children Hospital Multan, where Dean children hospital briefed the delegation.
JICA and MSNC team also visited OTP Site, BHU, Agriculture department Multan ext and Bahaudin Zikriya University (BZU) nutrition department where dean campus briefed the delegation and presented different projects of research being carried out in campus. JICA team is willing to provide technical support to MSNC.

The SUN and MSNC team convened a preparatory meeting, chaired by Dr. Sohail Saqlain, Member HNP, P&D Board, Government of Punjab, for an upcoming consultative session on ‘Incorporating Nutrition into Medical Curricula of Doctors and Allied Health Professionals: A Preventative and Curative Approach’. The session is scheduled for the 6th of December, 2021, and will include the participation of SUNAR (SUN Academia and Research Network) and key stakeholders and experts in the education and health sector, and will be a seminal event for seeking recommendations and sensitizing important partners on the role nutrition education can play in improving healthcare practice towards prevention of malnutrition and disease and promoting healthier and more resilient populations in Punjab.

Lahore, 16 November 2021:
Dr. Sohail Saqlain, Member (HNP), Planning & Development Board, Government of Punjab, chaired a Consultative Session of Technical Working Group (TWG) of Health Sector for the revision of Multi Sectoral Nutrition Strategy (MSNS) 2015. The agenda of the meeting was to develop a Policy Guidance Note for revised Multi Sectoral Nutrition Strategy (MSNS) of Health Sector, propose new nutrition specific and sensitive interventions to increase nutrition budget in ADP and to undertake a situation analysis (including a SWOT and BNA analysis) with the PHC Global (Consultant). The meeting was participated by representatives of international development partners, government departments, mother and child health experts, PHC Global, MSNC, SUN & UNICEF team.

November 15, 2021. A, Training Need Assessment Workshop, for workforce of LG&CD, Health and Education Departments on CRVS, was held at Avari Hotel Lahore. The workshop was co organized by LG& CD Department and UNICEF. Dr. Sohail Saqlain, Member HNP was the guest of honour. Other key participants included, Dr. Jasim Anwar, consultant CRVS, Dr. Asif, Chief Health, Ministry of Planning Development & Special Initiatives, Mr. Najeeb, Director LG& CD Academy Lalamusa, Mr. Sajid Rasool, DG, BoS Punjab, Chief Health-I & Health II, P&D Board and representatives from Health Department, LG& CD field formations, NADRA, PITB, Education Department.
While addressing the opening session of the workshop, Dr. Sohail Saqlain explained the chronological order of CRVS interventions and the importance of registration. He emphasized on the utility of data in development planning as well as delivery of social services, health education etc., to all the citizens. He further shared the essentials of success, being To Invest, To engage and To Inspire, in any task.

Dr. Sohail Saqlain, Member (HNP) chaired a meeting at MSNC Head Quarter, Gulberg. The agenda of the meeting was to give updates on the reports of the activities conducted by MSNC & SUN. In addition, a poster day will be celebrated in the first week of December on different thematic areas focusing on raising awareness related to nutrition-sensitive sectors. MSNC & SUN team presented an overview of the activities in the pipeline including TWG sessions of Health and Social Protection as a part of MSNS revision, a follow-up session to the roundtable session on population with stakeholders etc. At the end, a completion of 1st year at MSNC Head Quarter was celebrated with a cake cutting ceremony.

Multi Sectoral Nutrition Center (MSNC), Planning & Development Board, Government of Punjab has organized a “Policy & Consultative Round Table Session for a Sectoral Dialogue on Population” on 20th October 2021 at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore. The objective of the session is to plan interventions based on the recommendations under the thematic areas of service delivery, social and behavioral change communication, enabling environment and the role of development partners through a multi-sectoral approach.
The session included the participation of important stakeholders; amongst them were Col ®️ Muhammad Hashim Dogar, Minister for Population and Welfare, Government of Punjab, as a chief guest of the event, provincial stakeholders, representation from development partners as well as INGOs and NGOs
Col ®️ Muhammad Hashim Dogar, Minister for Population & Welfare addressed the occasion as a Chief Guest and assured that Government of Punjab would support all the initiatives to lower high population growth and pledged for necessary collaboration & cooperation to curb the drastic rise in the population rate over the past few decades.
It was decided that an Inter-provincial conference/dialogue would be held on the subject in the upcoming times soon.
