We just wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Harris Silicones & Glass - Pvt Ltd. for organizing the incredible Haris Car Care Duathlon 2023. This was truly an amazing event that brought together so many people from our community who share a love of fitness and a passion for giving back.

The Harris Car Care team did an outstanding job putting this event together, from the challenging course and the well-organized logistics to the fun post-race festivities. The support from the volunteers and staff was truly exceptional, and their enthusiasm and energy made the experience all the more enjoyable.

We also want to extend our thanks to all the participants who took part in the duathlon. Your dedication and hard work were truly inspiring, and it was so wonderful to see so many people pushing themselves to their limits and achieving their goals.

Finally, We would like to share some photos from the event that capture the spirit of the day (Uploaded in a new album under this page with the name Haris Care Care Duathlon 2023). These images are a testament to the incredible sense of community and camaraderie that we experienced at the Haris Car Care Duathlon 2023, and I hope they will inspire others to get involved and join us for future events.

What a fantastic, inspirational story for a cold Tuesday morning. This is Garrett’s story in his own words…

“I love seeing all the inspiring people in here.

I am a firm believer that you can build mental toughness and mold yourself into whoever you want to be.

For many years I was really mentally weak, a prisoner of my mental health & addiction. Since I was 18 I let alcohol consume me. It caused so much destruction in my life and I put it above everything that was truly important.

I was about 260 lbs when I went to rehab for drinking and was told it doesn’t matter what you eat or drink just don’t drink alcohol. I then switched from alcohol to food and ballooned to 340 lbs.

Still mentally weak, suffering and life in shambles I decided I couldn’t go on living my life like this anymore. I could either end it or decide to really live and fight back and gain full control over my life. I had so many demons I had to over come and mistakes to fix.

I became addicted to self improvement and started focusing on becoming mentally tough. I decided the old me needed to die.

Once I lost 120 pounds my wife encouraged me to run a marathon. I started training in January of this year, ran one in April (I did it to soon) and fell in love with running.

I can honestly say running has been the best thing for me in my life. I am now down 145 pounds, it helps keep the weight off, channels my addictive personality onto something positive. My mental health has never been better. Is an amazing outlet that challenges me constantly.

The biggest thing I love about running is it you can’t cheat it and it doesn’t lie to you. If you don’t eat right or put in the work, come a hard workout or race day you will surely feel.

Everyday I get to run is a gift and outside of spending time with my family there isn’t anything else in the world I would rather be doing than running.

Let’s all keep logging the miles, lacing them up and fighting the good fight.”

Four fans from arrived in by bicycle to support their national team in the Qatar 2022 World Cup and expressed their excitement about finally reaching the World Cup host country.

The travelers expressed their happiness at arriving in and their aspiration that their journey, which lasted for 177 days, would contribute to changing misconceptions about the Arab world and the region.

According to the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the four friends, Lucas Ledesma, Leandro Peggi, Silvio Gatti, and Matthias Versese, traveled more than 10,000 km, from the south of Cape Town, South Africa, to Qatar, passing through 15 countries in Africa and Asia.

They were greeted on the Doha Corniche by crowds of Argentina fans, in front of the countdown clock of the tournament, whose competitions will start in a few days.

Team leader Lucas Ledesma said that every day on this long journey has been a wonderful adventure over the past six months since we set out from South Africa last May.

He added: “We have witnessed many pleasant surprises and enjoyable experiences over the past six months, and we have encountered many people who have welcomed us across Africa and the Middle East, helped us learn about their cultures and traditions, provided us with food, and invited us to stay in their homes.

We were warmly welcomed by everyone along the way to our final stop in Doha, where we were greeted by enthusiastic crowds, who greeted us with cheers and chants.”
