Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the airways which causes episodes in which a person has difficulty in breathing. 😷

The word "Asthma" comes from a Greek word that means "Panting", which refers to the characteristic wheezing sound that an asthma patient makes during an asthmatic attack. 😖

Did You Know ❓

While it's often played off as a joke on TV, asthma is a chronic condition that can seriously impact a person’s quality of life.
No definitive cause of asthma has been discovered yet.
Asthmatic attacks can be triggered by exercise 🏃, viral colds 🤧, pollen, and even perfumes.
Asthma is more common in women than men.🙅‍♀️

Asthma is a non contagious disease, so you cannot contract asthma from someone who already has it.
There's no definitive cure for asthma, but it can be managed via medications and lifestyle modification.

Asthma is on the rise in Pakistan affecting x number of the population 🇵🇰

How to recognise an asthma attack 🚨

A person can be suffering from an asthma attack if they:

1. Develop sudden difficulty in breathing. 🫁
2. Are coughing excessively. 😷
3. Make a whistling sound while breathing out. 😮‍💨

What to do when someone's having an asthma attack ❓
1. Be calm and reassure the person having an attack
2. Ask them to take steady breaths, this also helps in calming them down. 😮‍💨
3. If they have an inhaler, retrieve it for them and ask them to take 1 puff every minute.
4. If the person doesn’t have an inhaler or their symptoms continue to get worse, call an ambulance. 🚑

Protesting is a fundamental right. 🗣️📢
Unfortunately, law enforcement turns to extreme measures like the use of riot control agents, like tear-gas shells, for dispersing the crowd. 🚨💨

🔴 If you find yourself affected in such a situation, here’s what to do:
* Move to a safe location immediately, away from the source of the irritant 🏃🏻
* Wash your hands first before instinctively rubbing the irritant out of your eyes 🙌🏻
* Blow your nose to expel the gas particles 🤧
* Rinse and flush your eyes with copious amount of water from one corner to the other, to remove all of the particles 👁️💧
* If wearing contact lenses, remove and discard them. If wearing glasses, remove them and don’t wear them again before washing them with soap and water
* Change or remove clothing as the irritant gas particles can seep into clothing and aggravate skin symptoms 👕👚
* Take a cold shower, use soap/baby shampoo and wipe your skin thoroughly 🚿

🚨🛑Some preventative measures and preparations to keep in mind when protesting:
* Wear complete-covering eyewear, like chemical-safety goggles 🥽
* Wear a face mask, scarves, or bandanas, that cover your face from nose to chin 😷
* Wear protective clothing which covers as much akin as possible 🥼
* AVOID wearing contact lenses, and makeup especially eyeliners
* Wear comfortable shoes so that you can run
* A backpack which doesn’t hinder running 🎒
* Common medication and first aid supplies, as well as prescription medicines like inhalers/epipens

Although tear gas is considered a low-risk riot control agent, it can adversely affect those exposed to it and many people have voiced their concerns regarding its use.

We urge you to stay safe while protesting for a noble cause, and look out for others on the way too. ♥️

A breast self-exam is an inspection of one’s breasts that one does on their own, that should be performed at least once a month, to know how their breasts normally look and feel like.
🔴 Here are a few steps for breast self-examination:

𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟭: Look at your breasts in front of a mirror, with your shoulders straight and hands on your hips. Then use the pads of your three fingers and exert light but firm pressure on the entire breast and armpit area. You should be looking for:
- The usual shape, size, and color
- Even contour without distortion or swelling
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟮: Raise your arms and look and feel for the same findings as previously
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝟯: Feel breast lumps while lying down. With a firm and smooth touch, use the pads of three fingers and cover the whole breast from collarbone to the abdominal area, and from armpits to the cleavage. Use a circular motion to feel for any lumps or irregularities.

📍You should see your doctor and seek professional advice and screening if you find any of the following:
- Swelling of any part or the whole of the breast
- Skin dimpling
- Pain or tenderness
- Ni***es retracted (turned inward)
- Red, dry, or flaky skin
- Discharge from ni***es (pus, blood, or any watery, yellow, or milky fluid)
Make sure you are satisfied with your consultation and have gained all the necessary knowledge. Remember, early diagnosis can save lives! 😇

Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent neoplastic conditions that more commonly occurs in, but is not limited to, women. This is a fairly easy and an important way of catching breast cancer early, coupled with regular physical exams and other screening techniques by a doctor.
