This is one of the beauties of Shari'ah. because calling a person by his father's name is more appropriate for knowing who is who and telling people apart. The father is the protector and maintainer of the child and his mother both inside and outside the home. This is why the father mixes with people in the marketplaces and takes risks by travelling to earn a halal living and strive for their sakes. So the child is given the name of the father. not of the mother who is hidden away and who is one of those whom Allah commanded (interpretation of the meaning):

Unable to reach a nearby hospital, and using little more than a pair of scissors and some gauze he had in his medical bag, he removed the lower part of A'Hed Bseiso's right leg in an operation carried out on the kitchen table without anaesthetic.

Grainy video footage that went viral on Instagram shows him wiping the bloody stump of her right leg as she lies on the table. One of her brothers holds her steady, another holds up two mobile phones to provide better lighting.

The regular motorcycle licenses now cost Rs980 for a year, a jump from Rs580. Cars and jeeps face an even steeper climb, with their annual fee rising to Rs2,280 from Rs1,180. Light transport vehicle (LTVs) drivers will have to pay Rs2,480 for a year, so will those driving heavy transport vehicles (HTVs).

Perhaps the most mind-boggling increase was for the international license, which has tripled from Rs1,830 to a whopping Rs6,030. This sudden surge might put a dent in travel plans for those seeking licenses valid abroad.

Speaking as a guest at a TV programme, prolific film star Reema Khan has said that the Indians don’t want to see Pakistani actors working in Bollywood.

“I received offers from Bollywood. I think that they already have a lot of talent there. From what I have observed, it is wiser to stay on your home turf.

The airlines will now be responsible for collecting the designated airport charges from passengers and remitting the funds to the Civil Aviation Authority.

A spokesperson for the CAA confirmed the implementation of the new policy and highlighted the importance of these charges in sustaining and enhancing airport facilities and services.

The revenue generated from these charges will be allocated towards the maintenance and improvement of domestic airports, ensuring a seamless and secure travel experience for passengers.

The decision to explicitly label these fees as "airport charges" aims to provide transparency and clarity regarding the purpose of the collection. Passengers are encouraged to be aware of this change and cooperate with the airlines during the ticketing and boarding processes.

In response to inquiries, the CAA spokesperson stated, "This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the overall aviation infrastructure in the country.

The revenue generated will be instrumental in modernizing our airports, implementing advanced security measures, and providing a more comfortable experience for passengers."

A student of a private university jumped from the tenth floor of a high-rise building at Penta Square. Defence B area of Lahore. and eventually died after suffering fatal injuries.

The deceased identified as Syed Musa a B.Sc student of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) - had an argument with a girl as the duo attended the party. The disgruntled boy, who was said to be under influence of a banned substance. jumped off from the balcony of a flat in the posh area.

Local cops said the student ended his life after having an argument with the girl during the party. The dead body was taken into custody and police launched an investigation into the incident. and proceedings are underway.

Pakistan’s information technology exports rose 17% and reached $303 million in December 2023 against exports of $259 million in November, as the country’s IT experts and freelancers continued to make inroads into international markets.

This is in line with increased focus of the government and growing calls from analysts to capitalise on the high potential of Pakistan’s IT industry that is believed to push annual exports to $10 billion over the next three years.

On a year-on-year (YoY) basis, IT exports surged 22.7% in December as compared to exports valuing at $247 million in the corresponding month of last year.

In the first half (Jul-Dec) of the current fiscal year, IT exports came in at $1.5 billion, which was 9% higher than exports of $1.3 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.

In December 2023, Pakistan’s overall services exports increased 15% month-on-month and stood at $727 million against $631 million in November 2023. However, on a YoY basis, services exports shrank 7%.

2. Real Estate Investor Visa - Two- or 10-year visa

Real estate investors in the UAE can secure a self-sponsored residence visa based on their property investments. For a two-year visa. individuals need to own property valued at Dh750,000 or more, either individually or jointly with a spouse. Alternatively, those who invest in properties worth Dh2 million or more may qualify for the coveted Golden Visa. valid for 10 years. Golden Visa eligibility extends to investors purchasing property through specific local banks or acquiring off-plan properties of at least Dh2 million from approved local real estate companies.

3. UAE Retirement Visa - Five years

A retirement visa is available for individuals aged 55 or older. offering a long-term stay of five years in the UAE. To qualify, applicants must have a minimum of 15 years of work experience inside or outside the UAE or be 55 years old at the time of retirement. Financial criteria include owning properties totaling at least Dh1 million.
possessing savings of no less than Dh1 Million. or having a monthly income of Dh20,000 (Dh15,000 for Dubai residents). Bank statements for the preceding six months must be provided to support the financial requirements.
