Harvard University's endorsement of the 'Sujood Posture' as an effective remedy for back pain has generated interest and discussions within the medical community. This approach highlights the importance of regular movement and exercise in managing and relieving back pain, challenging traditional medical practices that often lean towards surgical or pharmaceutical interventions.

The uniqueness of back pain lies in its complex nature, where the connection between pain and healing isn't always straightforward. Dr. James Rainville's explanation suggests that relief may not solely depend on physical healing but also on the nervous system's adaptation to pain, leading to a new perspective on addressing back pain.

According to this theory, the nervous system plays a significant role in pain management. When discomfort occurs, the nervous system adjusts, leading to pain alleviation. Regular exercise and movement can facilitate this adaptive process, potentially aiding the body in coping with and overcoming back pain.

By promoting the 'Sujood Posture,' Harvard University acknowledges exercise as a natural healer. Engaging in physical activities helps maintain flexibility, strength, and mobility, which are crucial for back health. Yoga and stretching exercises, like sujood, concentrate on improving posture and core strength, reducing strain on the back and supporting the spine.

Amid India's ban on rice exports and efforts to explore new markets in Russia and Mexico, Pakistan's rice exports are expected to rise in the current fiscal year, as projected by the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP). Despite facing challenges like floods and crop shortages, Pakistan managed to export 3.7 million tonnes of rice, valued at $2.14 billion, in the previous fiscal year.

REAP Chairman Chela Ram Kewlani expressed optimism about Pakistan's ambitious goal of exporting 5 million tonnes of rice worth $3 billion this fiscal year. India's export ban has created an opportunity for Pakistan to meet the supply gap and expand its market share in major rice-importing countries.

With the surge in demand for Pakistani basmati rice due to India's ban, prices have increased to $500 per tonne in the international market. The premium quality of Pakistani rice has positioned it advantageously, and prices may further rise to $600 per tonne in the coming months.

Ranked as the world's fourth-largest rice exporter, Pakistan has seen an increased interest in its non-basmati rice, which led to a price rise from $450 to $500 per tonne as buyers shifted their focus from India.

The recent announcement by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar about a substantial hike in petroleum prices has caused frustration among consumers in Pakistan.

Due to the surge in international oil prices, the government raised the cost of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) and petrol, citing it as being "in the national interest." Despite efforts to explore options to reduce the increase, the government was constrained by international commitments with the IMF. As a result, some petrol pumps are reportedly not providing fuel to customers.

Earlier, there were strikes by fuel pump owners demanding higher profit margins, which the government partially addressed, but the final price increase has exceeded expectations and is causing concerns for consumers.

The Centennial Light Bulb is still burning bright at a Livermore Fire Station as it has for 122 years, according to bulb expert and Former Deputy Fire Chief Tom Bramell of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

Since its original installation, when it served as a nightlight for the volunteer firefighters known as the 'Livermore Fire Boys,' the bulb was relocated between firehouses until it came to rest at Fire Station #6 situated at 4550 East Avenue in Livermore in 1976.

The famed bulb, manufactured by the Shelby Electric Company, is constructed of handblown glass with a carbon filament, according to the website that monitors its longevity.

The bulb originally burned at 60 watts when it was first installed at the fire department on L Street in 1901. Dennis Bernal, the owner of the Livermore Power and Light Company at the time, donated the bulb to the fire department, according to Bramell.

Pakistan boasts an impressive 7,253 known glaciers, with 543 located in the Chitral Valley, making it the region with the most glacial ice on Earth, second only to polar areas. These glaciers play a vital role in sustaining the country's water supply, accounting for approximately 75 percent of its stored water resources. However, researchers raise concern over their future as they observe a worrying trend of glacier recession, especially in the lower elevations of the Hindu Kush mountain range in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The factors contributing to this decline include reduced snowfall, rising temperatures, more intense summer rainstorms, and widespread deforestation.

The Chitral Valley, spanning 1,000 square miles, stands as a poignant example of the potential consequences of unchecked climate change, where life-sustaining mountains could become symbols of human suffering. Experts predict that without intervention, the situation will worsen in the coming years, posing heightened challenges and hardships for local communities.

Recognizing the critical importance of Pakistan's glaciers as a precious resource, it becomes paramount to address the threats posed by climate change. Doing so is essential not only to protect the region's environment but also to secure the livelihoods of its people.
