How does Israel’s treatment of Palestinians amount to apartheid?
Since Is3ael was established in 1948, its policies and legislation have been shaped by an overarching objective: to maintain a Jewish demographic majority and maximize Jewish Israeli control over land at the expense of Palestinians.

In order to achieve this, successive governments have deliberately imposed a system of oppression and domination over Palestinians.

Some examples of the Apartheid system in practice are:

1. Severe movement restrictions in the West Bank, enforced through a network of checkpoints and road closures. This is combined with a permits system which forces Palestinians who wish to visit other areas of the OPT to seek the Israeli military’s permission.

2. Superior nationality status for Jewish citizens of Israel that is distinct from citizenship and the basis for differential treatment of Jewish and non-Jewish citizens. Palestinians are denied that status.

3. Systematic denial of building permits to Palestinians in East Jerusalem, resulting in repeated home demolitions and forced evictions. The expansion of illegal Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem forces Palestinians out of their homes and confines the Palestinian population to progressively smaller enclaves.

The denial of Palestinian refugees’ internationally protected right to return. Israel bars displaced Palestinian families from returning to their former villages or homes in Israel and the OPT in order to retain control over demographics.

Restrictions on access to land and fishing areas in the Gaza Strip, which exacerbate the socioeconomic impact of Israel’s illegal blockade.

Apartheid is a violation of public international law, a grave violation of internationally protected human rights, and a crime against humanity under international criminal law.

Innocent children of G4za: The targets of Is3ael
Ever wondered, what kind of world would have let the holocaust happen? This very kind of world we live in. That is allowing the genocide of innocent children.
That is allowing another holocaust to take place.

Since 7th October 2023, Is3aeli Occupation forces have slaughtered 1,756 CHILDREN and INJURED more than 2000 children so far. And the number keeps increasing.

Hospitals have already run out of fuel to run the machinery and with the electricity supply cut-off, they are now forced to operate using flashlights from cell phones. Dozens of patients are being treated in a single operation theatre, on floors and corridors without anaesthesia and enough medical support amid the constant threat of getting bombed anytime.

The Children of G4za are most vulnerable to the atrocities of this war. Innocent babies are dying, crushed under the rubble of fallen structures, unable to get medical assistance, food supply or reach any hospital. With hospitals exhausted of remaining supplies, the death toll of innocent children is rising every passing minute.

In the recent past, you and us, we have all seen what disasters climate change has brought to us in the form of floods, rising temperature, drought, wildfires and heat waves. We have seen Pakistan lose thousands of lives because of floods and a major part of the world's largest pine forest. Climate change poses an existential threat to Pakistan.

Since EHLAM is a student-run platform aiming to provide constructive content & address the issues that matter, We believe Climate change is an issue that needs to be taken seriously.

The time is NOW to take steps to combat climate change before it's too late and save Pakistan from this existential crisis. Become a part of the first step of our plan to fight climate change, talks on this matter to gain clarity and a wider point if view on this problem.

EHLAM is pleased to announce that we are hosting a virtual conference on Climate Change.
