The ICC event will see 10 teams compete against each other once in the round-robin stage. A victory earns the winning side two points in every match, while a no-result match means the side shares a point each. The top four teams at the end of the round-robin stage will qualify for the semi-finals, followed by a summit clash.
Earlier in the day, the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed that the newly built Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad achieved a major milestone and registered itself in the Guinness Book of World Records.
