Good SEO is invisible.
How many times have you seen big companies that are happy paying one-off Ad spent or endorsement deals for hundreds of thousands dollar.
But when it comes to continuous organic traffic generation with SEO, they penny-pinch?
The things about paid marketing is that it is obvious, quantifiable, and often generates a feeling of awe and excitement.
Ask anyone on the street to name a company that targets them on social media platforms, chances are they can name a few.
The problem with SEO is that it is unobvious, less quantifiable (unable to tie back to revenue), and often searchers don't even notice that they have been SEO-ed.
Leading them to make an intuitive purchase decision based on the results they find.
Try asking anyone on the street to name a company that 'SEO' them on Google search, chances are they don't even know what you are talking about.
I can't tell you how many times I have shared with clients about certain competitors of theirs, and how they are ranking for all the top queries and generating huge amount of monthly search traffic.
And their reply was often: "I've never even heard about them."
That's when I realised one simple thing: good SEO is invisible.
Lastly, ask anyone who learns marketing about MasterClass[dot]com and why they are successful?
They would probably point out: "celebrity endorsements," "captivating video," and "super aggressive Ad targeting on all social media platforms."
In short, all the obvious, visible stuff.
What you will never hear them saying is that the site generates 13.4++ million Monthly Visitors from Google search - a conservative figure as actual traffic often is 2-3x higher than Ahref estimation.
You will also never hear them say the site has a near 10,000 SEO-optimised articles. With topics ranging from "how to write a book" to "how to ripen peaches."
Why?
Because good SEO is invisible.
