تاریخ مکہ مکرمہ
Makkah (also known as Mecca) is one of the most important cities in the Islamic world and is located in the western region of Saudi Arabia. The city has a rich and fascinating history that dates back thousands of years.
The early history of Makkah is shrouded in myth and legend, but it is believed that the city was founded by the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ismail (Ishmael) around 2000 BCE. According to Islamic tradition, Ibrahim was commanded by God to build a shrine at the site of the Kaaba, which is considered to be the holiest site in Islam.
Over the centuries, Makkah grew in importance as a center of trade and religion. The city was controlled by various tribes and kingdoms, including the Quraysh tribe, which gained prominence in the 6th century CE. The Quraysh controlled the Kaaba and were responsible for its upkeep and maintenance.
In the early 7th century CE, the prophet Muhammad was born in the nearby city of Medina. He began receiving revelations from God in 610 CE and began preaching Islam to the people of Makkah. The early Muslims faced persecution and were forced to flee to Medina in 622 CE in an event known as the Hijra.
However, Muhammad (peace be upon him ) and his followers returned to Makkah in 630 CE and peacefully conquered the city. The Kaaba was cleansed of its idols and became the center of Islamic worship. Makkah became the spiritual center of Islam and a place of pilgrimage for Muslims from all over the world.
Over the centuries, Makkah continued to grow and develop. The Ottomans controlled the city from the 16th century until the early 20th century, when it came under the control of the Saudi royal family. Today, Makkah is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world and is home to millions of Muslims who come to perform the Hajj pilgrimage to the Kaaba every year.
