‏امام انقلاب مولانا عبید اللہ سندھی رح فرماتے ہیں

"حقیقت یہ ہے کہ رمضان میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے کھانے پینے پر پابندی کی بجائے اس کے اوقات تبدیل کئے ہیں۔ اور اس کا اثر انسانوں کے رویوں، سرگرمیوں اور اخلاقیات پر دیکھا جاسکتا ہے۔‏ اللہ تعالیٰ نے مومنوں کو ایک نہایت مختصر مدت کے لئے مفلس، محروم اور بھوک سے نڈھال انسانیت کی طرف متوجہ کیا ہے تاکہ بھوکا رہ کر ان کا احساس پیدا کیا جائے اور بھوک و بد اخلاقی کو فروغ دینے والے معاشی نظام کے خلاف نفرت پیدا کی جائے۔"
