In December 1963, Rodney Fox was spearfishing off the southern coast of Australia when he was abruptly pulled under the water.
In a matter of moments, he suffered a punctured diaphragm, a lacerated lung, a pierced scapula, and an exposed abdomen, ribcage, spleen, and upper stomach. When he was finally rescued, his wetsuit had to be left on to keep his organs from falling out.
After undergoing four hours of complex surgery and receiving 462 stitches, Rodney Fox miraculously survived one of the most extreme non-lethal Great White Shark attacks ever recorded, going on to recount his astonishing survival story.
