Huawei & China Unicom Launch Network, Download 20 GB 4K in Under 20 Seconds
China Unveils World’s First 10 Gbps Broadband Network in Sunan, Hebei
China has launched the world’s first broadband network in Sunan County, Hebei Province, developed jointly by Huawei and China Unicom. The network achieves download speeds of up to 9,834 Mbps, upload speeds of 1,008 Mbps, and ultra‑low latency of just 3 milliseconds, all powered by 50G PON technology.
This massive leap enhances data transmission for cloud computing, VR/AR, 8K streaming, and smart‑home ecosystems. A 20 GB 4K movie that normally takes 7–10 minutes on a 1 Gbps connection downloads in under 20 seconds.
The rollout positions China ahead of rivals like the UAE and Qatar, promising significant boosts for healthcare, education, and agriculture sectors.
