Every other day in this country, you wake up and just pray that you won’t have to see or hear any disturbing news, but the exact opposite happens. Not a single day passes without another horrific incident.

Just in the last month, barely a day went by without news of people losing their lives in every horrific way imaginable, yet not a single person is held accountable or arrested for these crimes.

I’ve mentally given up on this country. A certain class can flourish, stay happy, and enjoy their lives here. The rest are simply left to survive.

Mitchell Starc took just 22 deliveries of his spell to complete a 5-fer today. He’s 36 and still plays every game of a 5-match test series, whether it’s the Ashes or the BGT. And he doesn’t just play, he’s usually the standout performer. He still regularly bowls at 140+ kph. In my opinion, he’s the most lethal fast bowler of this decade.

Just a thought, why don’t we see fast bowlers or upcoming pacers in Pakistan who idolize him or aspire to be like him? I’ve never heard a pace bowler in this country name Starc as an inspiration, either at the grassroots level or in interviews.

There’s so much to learn from him. His fitness, pace, energy, bowling skills, and the ruthless aggression it takes to become a lethal fast bowler.

Practically speaking, you get inspired by the players you grow up watching. This generation didn’t watch Wasim, Waqar, or Akhtar in their prime but inspiration doesn’t have to come only from within the country. You can learn from and be inspired by the greats of your field from your own era.

There are dozens of fast bowlers in this country. I just hope at least one aspires to be like him.

This is Pakistan's first Test series in England since 2020, when they lost the 3-match series 1–0. The Test series, which traditionally used to consist of four matches, was reduced to three.

Now, Pakistan have toured England after 6 years and lost the 1st Test by an innings and 103 runs within 2.5 days. (not to forget 3 sessions of rain)

Looking at the current state of our cricket, wouldn't be surprised if in the future this tour is reduced to a 2-match series with a 10-year gap.

After losing two early wickets, Pakistan rebuilt and were 97/2. Then they decided to do the absolute trademark Pakistan thing, which they do in almost every game, got bowled out for 171.

The pitch report before the game already suggested that there would be a lot of runs on this track. England definitely won’t miss this opportunity. Now keep chasing the game to make something relevant out of it, but we know it’s done.

One bad session is one thing. But making it so bad that you practically ensure there’s no way back into the game, that’s the trademark.
