Happy Birthday, Mr. Jinnah!
Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on this day, in 1876. Shortly after his birth, his parents had many concerns about his health as he was born with tiny hands and arms. His overall physique was extremely thin, and remained so until the end of his life.
Jinnah’s physique “appeared” normal because of the way his suits were tailored - they gave a certain perception about his physique while within he was weak and frail. The best tailors in the world don’t simply make the garments for an individual; they compensate for every ‘quirk’ that the individual has to make him or her appear immaculate in their clothing.
My mother often refers to Jinnah as ‘Iron Man’ (FYI - she has absolutely no idea who Tony Stark is!) because he was a ‘man of iron will power’. Some of Jinnah’s biographers also allude to the fact that his strength of character was a means to compensate for his weak and fragile health, which is why he managed to dominate the world around him solely by his willpower. His ability to remain a symbol of strength towards the end of this life, while his health was in shambles due to tuberculosis, is an incredible example of this.
Interestingly enough.. Arnold Schwarzenegger went the other way round - he dominated the world through his physical strength and won the “Mr. Universe” title multiple times. However, he turned out to be a political failure when he rose to become the Governor of California. It was his lack of willpower that ultimately tripped him up and resulted in the various scandals that surrounded him.
Jinnah remains, to this day, one of the greatest political leaders who never had any scandals against him.
Also, a Merry Christmas to everyone all around the world! ✨🎄
