SHIP UPDATE | M/V St Anthony de Padua or (SAP) of 2GO Travel is heading for the Ship Breakers together with M/V St Therese of Child Jesus

The country's only remaining liner company 2GO Travel will also be selling their midsized ROPAX Vessel: M/V St Anthony de Padua to ship breakers together with M/V St Therese of Child Jesus in an undisclosed country within the South Asia.

M/V St Anthony de Padua (SAP) was the former "Asakaze", a 1986-built RORO-Passenger Vessel built by Yamanishi Shipbuilding & Iron Works in Ishinomaki, Japan.

She has a length overall of 88 meters and a breadth of 15 meters. She was acquired by Aboitiz Transport System Corp and arrived in the Philippines in 2009. She was intended to be used under the CEBU FERRIES brand.

She became the M/V Cebu Ferry 2 and served the company's VisMin routes such as Ozamiz, Iligan, Surigao and Ormoc routes.

In 2010, Negros Navigation acquired the ATS and renamed it as 2GO Group Inc, while the passenger brand SF, CFC became 2GO Travel. 2GO Travel abandoned its VisMin route network and base in Cebu and transferred all its medium sized overnight RORO Ferries in Batangas. During this time, M/V Cebu Ferry 2 was later renamed as the M/V St. Anthony de Padua in 2012.

Before she was pulled out of service, she has already been experiencing Engine and Machinery Problems inside the vessel and rumors of her being scrapped has been there since 2020.

She is currently anchored off Batangas Area without the 2GO logo and name already. It was reported that the scrap buyer for SAP is the same that acquired the STCJ and the reason why STCJ is anchored off Batangas Area as well is that they will go together on their way to their reported destination.

Magkaiba din ang pinagdamutan sa wala talagang sobra para ipaheram.
Bawat isa may pangangailangan, wag nyong itatak sa utak nyo
na porket tingin nyo may pera isang tao eh kapag lumapit kayo paheheramin kayo agad. Lahat tayo may kanya kanyang needs at yung iba nag iipit lang para kapag sila nangailangan may madudukot sila dahil naranasan nadin nilang walang walang malapitan nung sila
nangangailangan.
