When you come to think about it, his is a story of reality competition victory, birthed after the time of the talent search surge, that spawned a string of similar ascent to national prominence—an aspirational main protagonist’s tale marked as a North Star by those that came after him.
His is an overnight success that made his name synonymous with bankable pretty boy good looks, shy, sometimes mysterious and brooding, but with a disarming easy likability and charm.
On the heels of the cinema release of his recent jab back into rom-com, home to the meteoric rise of his celebrity, Milby reassesses his gameplan, or none thereof, in navigating an industry that has changed since his thrust into the spotlight.
Now at 40, and nearly two decades since his exit at the still widely-followed television show, and with the awareness now that the fan frenzy may have significantly quieted down, Milby revisits his years as a “Yes” man to the wiser, more astute one that he is now.
In so many ways, we might actually be introduced to the actual Sam Milby, in the same way he is being reintroduced to himself—the things that he value, the career moves he now has complete hand on, and creative pursuits he will not tire from taking.
