RATIONALE

Even when physical proximity seemed impossible, the young people can use the film medium to reach out to people, help them experience the closeness of the church and invite them to follow Jesus more closely.

“Come and see: Communicating, encountering people as and where they are” is the theme of the World Day of Communications for the 2021 celebration of World Communications Day. The f

ilm entries revolve around the 2021 festival theme vis-a-vis the opportunities and challenges of living in this time of the new normal. This festival is open to students of Junior and Senior High School, College, and TVET from the Philippines’ North Province; and active young people in any Salesian Parish or Youth Center for the SY 2020-2021. In taking part of the film production, it is essential for participants to follow the health protocols. The entry forms will have to bear the approval of their parents and school authorities.

As we enter the campaigning season and with the elections just around the corner, let us reflect on St. John Bosco’s quote, “The power of evil men lives on the cowardice of the good.” With that, let us uphold our Christian values and morals taught by Jesus and Saint John Bosco. Also always keep a keen eye on the candidates and scrutinize them based on what they truly stand and fight for.
