Lakbaygulay

Lakbaygulay Advocacy. Garden. Kusina. Travel The vegetarian couple who loves to travel on a budget. They realized that traveling alone is not enough, it has to have a purpose.

Thus, Lakbaygulay was born. Let's travel and make a difference. Travel with a purpose. What is Lakbaygulay

Lakbaygulay was born in 2012. Lakbay is travel in Filipino and Gulay for vegetables. In short, for us, it means ”a traveling vegetarian”. We are a group of young vegetarians, Yoga practitioners and environmental individuals who are engaged in promoting local tourism along with traditional el

ements of travel—arts, culture, geography, history, and recreation with an integrated combination of voluntary local community service. Fast forward to today, Lakbaygulay is now our avenue to share our passion. From various advocacies, gardening, cooking and of course, traveling. Our aim is very simple and we hope to use this medium towards achieving selfless service to mankind and God.

We need you!

Typhoon Carina has impacted coastal communities in La Union. Strong waves have prevented fisherfolk from going out to sea, and widespread flooding has displaced many families.

We're providing plant-based meals to affected families and urgently need volunteers to help with cooking, packing, and distribution.

If you have a vehicle to lend, your support would be greatly appreciated.

Let's come together to help our community in need.

Today we observed Ekadasi (abstain from eating grain and beans).

“In the Brahma-vaivarta Purana it is said that one who observes fasting on Ekadasi is freed from all kinds of reactions to sinful activities and advances in pious life. The basic principle is not just to fast, but to increase one’s faith and love for Govinda, or Krishna. The real reason for observing fasting on Ekadasi is to minimize the demands of the body and to engage our time in the service of the Lord by chanting or performing similar service. The best thing to do on fasting days is to remember the pastimes of Govinda and to hear His Holy Name constantly.”

In celebration of National Nutrition Month, we give you Adlai🌱

What is Adlai?

A grain that has a similar taste and texture to white rice. It is a member of the grass family, relative of rice, wheat, and corn.
Also called Chinese Barley, it is a gluten free grain that’s pretty low in the glycemic index.

Healthy Benefits:

1. It is energy-dense.
Adlai can give you three times more energy than white rice. Though it contains more calories, these are healthy carbohydrates and can make you feel full for a longer period.

2. It is a good source of nutrients.
Adlai is packed with protein and dietary fiber, as well as minerals like calcium, phosphorus, iron, niacin, thiamine, and riboflavin.

3. It has a low glycemic index.
Unlike regular rice, adlai has a low glycemic index, which means that it is slowly digested, absorbed, and metabolized, causing a slower rise in blood glucose and insulin levels. Because of this, adlai is beneficial to those who suffer from diabetes or high blood sugar.

4. Locally produced
Another important feature of adlai is that it is sourced locally. Our farmers from Mindanao and Cordillera will benefit from their harvest if more people switch to adlai. As we strive to become healthier, we are helping our farmers with their livelihood too.

Part 1

First time namin ni kumander magtravel to Thailand ‘The Land of the Smiles’.
The warm and welcoming locals are perhaps the main reason why Thailand is called the Land of Smiles. Most of the locals are kind and friendly, so you will always see a lot of smiling faces around.
Kung mahilig ka sa curry food, sigurado mag enjoy ka dito 😉👌🏻
A lot of restaurant and street food corner here serve vegetarian menu so hindi ka mahihirapan sa pagkain even 711 store sells plant based diet meal. Frozen yun so request mo na lang to reheat it via microwave.
Magsasawa ka sa mango dito grabe! Parang all season yun mango nila at ang tamis… kasing tamis ni Mrs🥰
Need more lang research language nila para hindi ka mahirapan. Most of them dont speak english. Download Google translate👍🏼
Sa Part 2 ko ishare yun Itinerary namin at Travel Tips☺️

Happy Summer Travel mga kalakbaygulay!

Sambong Tea Monday

Im fortunate to have Sambong plant at my garden. Binigay ng nanay ko yun seedling then i plant it sa garden. Ngayon ang laki na niya.
Benefits of Sambong plants:

Sambong has antimicrobial properties that help in a lot of diseases. Perhaps one of the best sambong benefits is its ability to destroy bacteria and other microbes. Coupled with its anti-inflammatory chemicals, sambong can be used to help in the treatment of diarrhea and stomach-ache; skin problems, like worms and boils; sore throat; and rheumatism.
reduces edema
Brings down fever Because sambong has menthol, it helps cool down your body temperature.
Sambong aids in treating cough and cold. This unique medicinal plant has expectorant properties,
Fortunately, sambong has no known side effects.
Please consult your Doctor😉

Thank you Google☺️
