Episode description:
It's been a long while since I last uploaded an episode for you guys, but I hope you're all doing well.
This episode is my proof of life, having been MIA and just being so busy these past 2-3 months. Also, this is a sort of self-reflection now that I am celebrating yet another birthday. Cheers to another year of life!
Please listen to the episode as I expound more on these realizations/learnings. But here's the complete list, for your reference. Things I learned in life, thus far:
1. Life is short.
2. Let go of things you cannot control.
3. Be kind (to others and to yourself).
4. Celebrate small victories.
5. Be genuine in your interactions.
6. Be honest with yourself.
7. Stop comparing.
8. There's not always a correct answer.
9. Not every one needs to know your business.
10. Think before - you act, speak, click 😉
11. Help without expecting anything in return.
12. There's nothing wrong with asking for help.
13. Immerse yourself in the arts. -
14. In your quest for success, don't go walking over other people.
15. Stick it out. Stand by your decisions.
16. Stop obsessing over what-ifs and what could-bes.
17. If you think you're running out of options, think again. Maybe a change in perspective is what you need.
18. Let reading take you places.
19. It's okay to feel deeply.
20. Bad days are welcome.
21. Fail many times. Fail often. Learn as you go along.
22. It's okay to be ordinary. 💜
23. Invest in yourself. - health, education
24. Laugh from the heart.
25. We're all different, but not really.
26. Do not eat only to feel bad afterwards. Haha.
27. Embrace everything that you are.
28. Learning never stops.
29. Walk by faith. ✨
30. Don't be afraid to start over and start again.
Love and light,
Kristine

📣[SOUND ON] Ep57 highlight
Part of being human is to feel. ❤
We just don't turn off our capacity to care or to feel. It's part of us. But too much of anything is also not good.
If, for example, you are getting negative feedback from someone you barely even know, so much so you get so affected by it. Consider the scenario. Is this person significant enough in your life to affect you so deeply? What about feedback from those who actually matter in your life? Just think about it.

I briefly talked about overachieving in our latest upload, Episode 57, and one my many "hugots" would definitely revolve around managing expectations.
Minsan kasi nakakalimutan ng mga tao that we are but human, and we often make mistakes and that's okay. It's part of life and part of what helps us grow.
Again, it's okay to hope to be the best. To put your best foot forward. To shoot for the stars. They're all amazing motivation for you to pursue your dreams. Just think about: at what cost?
Maybe you are putting too much pressure on yourself? Maybe you are losing sight of the more important things in your life (like your relationships)?
Just some things to consider. 🙂
Also do check Ep57, now out on your favorite podcast streaming sites + Youtube/FB. 💕
P.S.: We are sporting a new intro message, napansin niyo ba?

Ep57: It's Okay Not To Be Okay (Takeaways from Andrea Owen's How to Stop Feeling Like Sh*t)
Hi there! I hope you are doing well.
I am sharing with you this episode, which focuses on my Top 3 takeaways from Andrea Owen's book entitled, How to Stop Feeling Like Sh*t
I honestly have more I want to share about the book, but I want to delve into it in separate episodes so I hope you watch out for that. For now, I am giving you a totally impromptu, top of my mind takeaways from my read. I'm sure you all can relate to it. ;)
Also, this will be part of a new series on WHY YOU SHOULD READ/WATCH... I am going to focus more on books for now, since I am spending most of my time reading these days. These are books that I want to share with you, books that I usually post on my booklist account (IG: @kristinesbooklist). This will allow me the space to provide more insights-the ones I cannot compress in the captions section, hahaha.

Episode description:
This episode springs from a realization I have had earlier today, and it's something I want to share with you in more detail.
I never really thought of the 5 love languages as in terms of self-care. In my mind, it's always directed outwards: for family, for friends, for others.
After reading the article (link down below), I can say I have, recently, done all (receiving gifts and quality time both at the top) except give myself words of affirmation. I don't know why that is exactly but, perhaps I'm just not used to it?
A friend once said to me that I easily give compliments—primarily voicing out what I find good and nice first, while others hurry to criticize. I didn't think much of it then. But now I realized these words of affirmation and encouragement—something so simple, something I allow myself to easily give to others—are things I rarely let myself have.
With this realization, I encourage you to encourage yourself.
I have also left FIVE important words of affirmation within this episode. A little something for you to listen to in case you haven't yet given yourself some words of encouragement today.
I really hope you enjoy this episode, and I'll see you again soon!

Episode description:
For weeks I stayed away from any recording equipment I have at home, and just focused on getting into a good headspace. I even hated the sound of my own voice, if I am being honest. After taking rest and doing some thinking, I came across Lily Collins' book, Unfiltered. Well, I saw Emily in Paris first before finally deciding to put her book in my reading list. I love love love her there btw. (^^,)v
This book could not have come at such an opportune time. It's exactly what I needed. I can relate to many of Lily's stories, and in this episode, I am sharing with you 4 points, 4 takeaways from the book which I hope you could keep in mind as you greet 2021.

For this week's episode I get to chat with one of my real-life role models, Ate Missy. I've known her for many years now but this will be the first time we'll have a conversation on camera. Ate Missy is a champion of work-life balance. This is one of the things I admire about her, that she can handle many things at once and strike a much-needed balance. Also, she has recently started her own business, which she will talk to us about in this episode.
Ate Missy shares to us what it means to be an entrepreneur at present, especially with the pandemic that's going on. I hope we all learn something from this short, but insightful episode.

Episode description:
Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in the US!! Thanksgiving reminds me a lot of my roommate (who was from the US) and a few friends from Chiang Mai, Thailand . In 2015, I went there for an exchange program for one whole semester and found a sister & friend in my roommate, Mildred. It was through her that I was able to celebrate my first ever thanksgiving. Well, it was just us and a few friends having dinner, announcing what it was we were grateful for. It couldn't be more perfect.
The small thanksgiving celebration we had made its mark on me, and it made me realize that there may be events/things/situations I disliked during the year, but I also have a lot to be thankful for. That life may be difficult, but it certainly is not all bad. It's like learning how to find the blessing out of every situation--the silver lining, and being thankful for what life has to offer.
This episode I am joined by my boyfriend, Jorenz, as we have a short conversation about the things we are thankful for. This year has been very challenging and a lot has happened so unexpectedly we have little time to process anything. This episode is our small avenue to reflect and, basically, verbalize our thoughts. Please join us by sharing some of the things you are grateful for. Remember, gratitude knows no time and place. You just have to acknowledge it, be aware of it, and hopefully pass it onto others.

Episode description:
Recently I've been reading this novel by Holly Bourne entitled "The Places I've Cried in Public". As of recording, I have yet to finish the book. I think I have around 30 pages left, but so far, the story reminded me of several instances from my much younger years about issues related to emotional manipulation and other red flags that almost overstep my personal boundaries.
So, for this week's episode, we'll tackle relationship red flags and boundaries. There is no perfect time to discuss this, so we might as well dive into it. I also touch upon the kinds of boundaries as shared by The Holistic Psychologist. In this conversation, there is no one excluded. We all need to set boundaries in order to have healthy relationships.
Just a side note, I was so immersed in passionate discussion I got slightly emotional somewhere in the middle.
