I've come across many posts discussing the pros of freelancing, but few mention the cons. In reality, freelancing can feel incredibly challenging, making it hard to stay motivated and survive at times. However, don't lose faith. I'm sharing this for awareness so that when you're in the thick of it, you'll be prepared. 🫶🏻

The cons of freelancing
1. 𝙄𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 (to actively seek new potential clients)
2. 𝙇𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙨 (insurance)
3. 𝘼𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 (one-man team)
4. 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 (working alone most of the time)

Can we all agree? After 10 years in the freelancing industry, and counting, I certainly do. And as my unsolicited advice to all aspiring freelancers is to set clear objectives and stick to them. Freelancing can be very tempting (more on this in future videos), but staying true to your goals will sustain you in the long run.

If you want to be a Virtual Assistant, be prepared to work according to your clients' hours. This can vary depending on your niche, but in my experience within management roles such as Chief of Staff, Executive Assistant, Lead Administrator, or Account Manager, many opportunities are based in the US. There are also similar roles in countries with similar time zones, like Australia, New Zealand, and other Asian countries. However, the highest-paying companies are often in the US.

Ang ganda ng sunset in my current working space here in Roxas City, Capiz.
And I can’t still help myself and joke about “ayan na malapit na lumabas ang mga wakwak” pero sa totoo, kami pala yun, mga bayaning puyat sa gabi at gising na gising para kumayod. Mga tinitiis ang antok sa pagasa na matupad ang mga pangarap. Kung “wakwak” ka rin bilib ako sayo, patuloy lang! 🫶🏻
