𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 | Here Comes The Fruits and Veggies: A Guide to a Healthier You

Health is wealth—an unmasked fact we all know, from it's powerful pull to its striking words, we can say that it is too good to be true as a common quote from one person's slogans, projects, and posters.

As for a particular student from Grade 10 - Love, said, "health is wealth means being healthy is more valuable than money. If you’re sick, you can’t enjoy life. Taking care of ourselves is the real richness." Her words really marked up the importance of health, it really proves us that not every common words or things are not worthy to be part of someone's mind—it shows us on how to value something like it's meant to be valued. That's why we should value our health like diamonds, golds, and other worthy minerals in our planet.

We should prioritize our health—to live a better life, and to see more unexpected stories laying beneath us, we should eat properly especially eating vegetables and fruits, because every bite is a journey to different variations of nutritions—our life depends on us of how we survive and stay healthy. Be a part of your priority to unlock a dream, by staying healthy and balancing your nutrition.

July is not just a month to celebrate nutrition, it's about spreading awareness to each and everyone to build strength and value—this is the only way we can voice out for everyone, for their health and for your own good, let's stand together for the health of the others.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 | Nutrition in Action

Baungon National High School (BNHS) joined the nationwide Nutrition Month celebration this July with a series of creative and educational activities.

On July 16, 2025, Marlou “Kuya Marl” Sios-e of Sios-e Online News Magazine visited BNHS to speak with school officials about their preparations.

With the theme “Food Nutrition Security, Maging Priority: Karapatan Natin,” the school emphasized the importance of every Filipino’s right to access healthy and nutritious food.

“Our school may have limited resources, but we continue to find creative ways to make students aware of good nutrition,” said Dr. Nanette Soriano, BNHS Principal.

Activities include a TikTok mash-up dance challenge, a quiz bee, poster making, fruit carving, a “Bring the Outrageous” fashion segment, and the “Most Delicious Binignit” cooking contest.

“We want to involve both students and teachers in fun but meaningful ways to celebrate health,” shared Ma’am Josie Bacarro during the interview.

Grade 9 students won first place in both the poster making and fruit carving contests held earlier this month.

“We saw how the students poured their effort into their artwork, and their messages about nutrition were clear and strong,” shared Roxan Liwanag, poster making coordinator.

A panel of judges composed of MAPEH, TLE, Science, and Filipino teachers carefully evaluated each entry to ensure fairness and quality.

“The students who win in our school-based contests may represent BNHS in the municipal-level celebration,” explained Grace Redondo, TLE Department Chairperson.

“Even just cooking binignit, a simple Filipino food, can teach us about healthy ingredients and Filipino culture,” said one student who requested to remain anonymous.

The culminating program will be held on July 31, 2025, at the school’s covered court, with Ma’am Josie Bacarro inviting everyone by saying, “You are all welcome to witness our Nutrition Month celebration.”

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 | From BNHS Hearts to IP Learners

Baungon National High School (BNHS) through its Schools Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) actively participated in the division-wide “Peso Mula sa Puso” project.

On July 15, 2025, BNHS SSLG officers conducted room-to-room visits to collect voluntary donations from students in response to Division Memorandum No. 359, s. 2025.

The project, initiated by the Division Federation of Supreme Elementary and Secondary Learner Governments (DFSELG & DFSSLG), aims to provide emergency assistance and fund the construction of a learning building for Indigenous Peoples (IP) learners.

Each student was encouraged to donate at least one peso, highlighting the spirit of bayanihan and collective responsibility.

According to SSLG officers, many BNHS students generously contributed more than the suggested amount, showing their support for the cause.

Teodelle Eniola, SSLG President, said, "This kind of project is really important for students because it promotes cultural respect within our school community. It helps students understand the value of helping others, especially Indigenous People learners."

School heads and teachers monitored the activity to ensure that the collection was done transparently and in line with division guidelines.

All donations collected from BNHS will be consolidated by district and officially submitted to the Schools Division Office as instructed in the memorandum.

One student shared, "Even just one peso feels meaningful when it's for others who really need help," expressing the common feeling among many BNHS learners about the importance of helping despite giving only a small amount.

The Division of Bukidnon emphasized that all funds will be properly deposited, accounted for, and reported regularly to ensure transparency.

Through “Peso Mula sa Puso,” BNHS demonstrated that even small contributions, when given from the heart, can create a meaningful impact in promoting inclusive education.

Baungon National High School (BNHS) conducted a Search and Destroy Operation at around 8:00 A.M. on June 27, 2025, in response to the increasing number of dengue cases.

This initiative is spearheaded by Ma’am Andrea Malazarte from the Department of Health - Human Resources for Health (DOH-HRH).

Brgy. Imbatug volunteers also took part in the campaign, working hand in hand with the school community.

Students and teachers were asked to join the operation by cleaning classrooms, removing stagnant water, and disposing of possible mosquito breeding sites.

The main objective of the activity was to prevent the spread of dengue within the school and the surrounding community.

Fogging and misting procedures are set to take place after class hours this afternoon as a follow-up precaution.

“I felt good helping out this morning as everyone was cooperating, and it really shows how serious dengue is,” said Grade 7 student Angela Dizon.

School officials expressed their appreciation for the unity and quick response shown by everyone involved.

The administration continues to remind students and staff to practice cleanliness and stay alert to health risks.

BNHS urges the community to support ongoing anti-dengue efforts to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 | The Untold Sacrifices: A Father's Journey

Living under a roof that a man build it for you is a treasure that you need to keep, a treasure that signifies there love for you—they will do anything to provide for their loved ones, to make them proud, to never lose their hope, and to never let them down on any storm they need face with—they were known as the roof of the house, our dads.

Throughout the happiness that father's had, they were also scars beneath them—those scars has meanings on their lives, the pain that they suffered, and the battles that they faced throughout their living, Those scars were the sacrifices that they need to faced with, they were the evidence of the love for us unconditionally. They are the living scarred knight of our home, even though they can be strict sometimes but they cared about us at all times—scarred or not they will always be our knight and shining armor of our lives.

As for a particular student at Baungon National High School, she believes that the only man who can sacrifice anything for you, is your father—throughout the challenges she has facing with, her father, who is a busy man that will sacrifice something even if its hard to let it go for a moment, just to provide something for his loved ones, her father really proves everyone that he is a father who is loving and caring to their children under his facade. Deep inside, every scars that her father grew with are evidence of unconditional love—to make sure he can protect, provide, and care for his family no matter how hard life is.

Wherever we go, our knight and shining armor will always be a part of our hearts, no matter how shatter it is—every piece of it can still be glued back together as you love and care your loved ones, they will always be our source of light and our father's love will always be in our hearts that are full of dreams and futures.

"They go beyond. They go above. Fathers have mastered how to love.” – Keion Jackson
