𝙎𝙏𝘼𝙍𝙁𝘼𝙇𝙇 may not be the "𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩" record for others' ears. But for me, it is 𝘰𝘯𝘦 of the "𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩" important record that I made 5 years ago.

𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 2016, nang sinimulan kong i-conceptualize ang album na ito - 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞; 𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘯𝘢 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬; 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢-𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞; 𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞.

𝙀𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 2017, I went to Brgy. Baraoas Norte, Naguilian, ("a late appointment") just to meet the recording engineer of 𝙈𝙖𝙯𝙯 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙤 at that time, named 𝙃𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙯𝙤𝙣. Yes, the man who is also known as the ilokano rapper, 𝙍𝘽𝙆 (𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢 𝘋𝘑 𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣𝘴)

That time of the day is also my 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰. Kabado at nae-excite kung anong kalalabasan ng boses ko sa track. And that track, is called "𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙠𝙨𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙠"

"𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙠𝙨𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙠" (𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘬𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘺 "𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙠𝙤") ang isa sa mga awitin na kasama sana sa 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡 album and noted to be 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬 in the album. Ang plano ko din sana ay si 𝙍𝘽𝙆 ang guest artist ko sa track. But after the whole song was finished, naisipan ko na huwag na lang isama 'yung kanta sa album dahil sa paniniwalang may mas magandang kalalagyan pa ito.

"𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙠𝙨𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙠" took into the next level, as the 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 joins 𝙆𝙧𝙚𝙮𝙯𝙚𝙚 (𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘪 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙡) 𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘪 𝙍𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙡-𝙂 (𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯 n𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙠𝙖). Nagawan din namin ito ng 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘝𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰. Through connections, ay na-perform namin ang "𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙠𝙨𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙠" ng live sa isang 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘝 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 at sa kung saan-saang lugar kapag may imbitasyon. And the rest is 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

𝗛𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 encouraged me to have a 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰 studio 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘦𝘵-𝘶𝘱 way back when and he once called it as the "2ⁿᵈ 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰". So, when I've had my free time already in 2018, binuhos ko na lahat sa 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 for 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩.

Feeling pressured, kase hindi ko alam kung paano ang approach ng tao sa 'yo pagkatapos mong i-release. It wasn't easy for me to do this, pero seryoso akong tapusin ang project. This recording was released in 2018 but the sound quality seems like it was recorded in 1968, LOL!

Ang concept ng "𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭" is like a 𝙗𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙨 (𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘶𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘶𝘩𝘢𝘯)

I gave myself a deadline, marked 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 25 as the 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭's date of release - not through digital platform but on 𝗖𝗗, trying to sell it, in hopes na may tumangkilik kahit hindi naman tayo sikat. ✌️

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗯𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 25 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗸𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀?
Dahil sa paniniwalang baka wala nang magiging interesado sa album, dahil baka abala na rin ang lahat para sa Noche Buena - and as if naman, sold out agad ang CDs kapag nilabas ko sa pasko. Kaya malayo pa lang ang ber months, naglalabas na ako ng teaser ng mga tracks atleast once a week yata, to inform everyone na may album akong paparating. And to me, month of September is a good date of release kase first ber month, eh. Umabot man sa January to February, parang paskong pinas pa rin 'yun dahil maginaw pa.

I called the 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘊𝘋 as 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙥𝙮 𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚, kase plano ko talagang ilabas din siya sa digital platform soon after man ako umabot sa aking ika-14th studio LP, which is nangyari na nga.

The main reason why I chose to release the album on September, is that, umaasa ako na 3 months before December 25 ay na-dispose ko na ang mga CD. I just knew it to myself na mahihirapan akong magbenta since independent artist lang ako sa Elyu.

At bakit sa 25ᵗʰ day ng September? Dahil sa 25ᵗʰ ang birthday nitong inaalalayan ko ng album (sa April nga lang, hahaha)

I will always be grateful na kayo ang nakasama ko sa album na ito.

Special thanks also to Ms. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 for her amazing backing vocals in the other 5 songs in the album. And of course! Mr. 𝗞𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 for accommodating me at his studio with Ms. Jasmine and Mr. Joshua.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁?
Tungkol lang naman sa dalawang taong pinagtagpo ngunit hindi itinadhana. Patunay na hindi lahat ng love story ay may happy ending. Sometimes, we need to face these mother*****n' consequences para doon tayo mas titibay bilang indibidwal.

𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡?
Huwag kang maduduwag na ilahad lahat ng nilalaman ng damdamin mo. Tandaan, ang pag-ibig ay parang sugal. Pwede kang manalo, pero sa laro ng pag-ibig hindi ka matatalo bagkus ay matututo ka. Matatalo ka lang naman kung hindi mo sinubukan.

Para sa taong naging inspirasyon ko sa likod ng tema ng 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭, itago na lang natin sa pangalang "𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙖", maraming salamat sa 'yo. Mag iingat ka saan ka man naroroon.

Sa mga may kopya ng album na nilabas the past 5 years ago, salamat at sinamahan n'yo ako sa kwento ko. At sa mga hindi pa nakakadinig, ito na ang pagkakataon ninyo dahil nasa digital platform na!

Plano ko sanang i-remaster pa lalo itong album bago i-release. Ang kaso, madami akong nakatokang proyekto o gawain sa labas ng studio that I need to finish before 2023 ends. Although, my aim right now is to share this record for those who haven't heard of the 2018 Mix. And so, here it is! 𝙏𝙝𝙚 5ᵗʰ 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 of this experimental and concept album by yours truly - which is meant to be my 15th studio album!
