BTA PARLIAMENT SESSION NO. 62 - We, the Bangsamoro Parliament, recently convened for our 62nd session, where we made significant progress on several fronts. A total of five bills were introduced, and nine resolutions were adopted, paving the way for vital reforms in the region.

In a moment of recognition and celebration, we honored the achievements of women lawmakers Atty. Raissa Jajurie and Froilyn Mendoza, who received the prestigious 2024 Inquirer Women of Power awards. We also acknowledged the outstanding work of Dr. Sitti Zayda Halun, Bai Norhata Alonto, and Fatima Pepe Kanakan, who were awarded the Mindanao Women in Development awards. As one of the principal authors, we are proud to have contributed to this initiative.

In addition to celebrating our colleagues' achievements, we also took time to pay our respects to the family of late Rostom Saaban, a third base commander of the 106th base command of the Southern Mindanao Front. We authored this resolution with other MPs to express our condolences.

The Parliament also addressed several key issues, including the registration of Muslim divorces, the organization of Shari'ah courts, and the prohibition of va**ng in government offices. These resolutions aim to strengthen the region's governance and promote public health.

Finally, we reconstituted the chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of various statutory and parliamentary committees. Our session will resume on May 27, with continued focus on advancing the interests of our constituents.

Marawi CDRRMO together with PDRRMO and PNP responded to a vehicular accident happened at Sagonsongan Diversion Road this morning of February 22 at around 11 o'clock.

# of passengers: 6 including an infant

They were transported directly to their home at Barangay Luksadatu.

The six (6) passengers were safe and no reported casualties and or injured persons.

LOOK | BANGSAMORO SOLON PROPOSES CREATION OF TWO NEW MUNICIPALITIES IN LANAO DEL SUR

Upon the ratification of the bills, either the President of the Philippines or the BARMM Chief Minister will appoint the municipal government officials, including mayors, vice-mayors, and eight Sangguniang Bayan members. The appointed officials may continue to hold their posts until duly elected officials are voted in during the next regular election.

During the transition period, both Pilintangan and Raya Maguing municipalities will receive financial support, with an allocation of P3-million each month until they are able to generate their own internal revenue allotment.

Pamilya ni Jaafar Sultan, Sumisigaw para sa Katarungan

Si Jaafar Gamo Sultan, isang 25-anyos na residente ng Hijra Dulay Proper Shelter sa Marawi City, ay hindi makatarungang ikinulong. Hinihiling ng kanyang pamilya ang kanyang agarang paglaya at isang patas na imbestigasyon sa pagsabog sa Dimaporo Gymnasium ng Mindanao State University noong ika-3 ng Disyembre, 2023.

Si Azisah G. Sultan, ang nakatatandang kapatid ni Jaafar, ay nakipag-usap sa Radyo Pilipinas Marawi, na nagbigay ng hindi matatawaran na patunay ng kanyang kawalang-kasalanan. Kinumpirma ni Azisah na wala si Jaafar sa MSU Marawi noong araw ng insidente. Sa halip, nagpapahinga siya sa Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC), naghahanda na mag-donate ng dugo para sa operasyon ng kanyang hipag.

Sa kabila ng ebidensyang ito, ang sabi ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ay nahuli si Jaafar noong ika-6 ng Disyembre, 2023, sa isang joint operation ng Task Force Marawi at ng Marawi Police Office. Nananatili sa kustodiya si Jaafar, naghihintay ng imbestigasyon.

Following the Mass Rally and Prayer attended by 12,000 participants in Southern Mindanao on October 16, a powerful Mass Rally was held today in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

On the bright morning of October 19, 2023, at the LCCI Field Ground, situated at the intersection of Upper Awar St., Philhealth, and the Provincial Capitol in Brgy. Poblacion, Marawi City, people in Marawi City joined hands with the international community in denouncing the violence inflicted on innocent lives in Palestine.

This impactful event drew more than 5,000 participants, including various agencies, organizations, dedicated volunteers, and passionate advocates.

Notable participants in this mass demonstration included BYC, UNYPAD-RANAO Inc., United Imam of the Philippines, CMYM, Ranao Charitable Society, League of the Sunni Shafi'i Ash'ari Scholars and Preachers of the Philippines, Weldan in Islam Al-Masajed, Al-Wiqayah Society of the Philippines, Al-Ittihad Nour Al-Houda Organization, Jamiyyatu Bedayyah Wanihaayah Al-Islamia Organizations, Ittihadun Nisa Al-Lawatiiy Yatlubnal Ilma, Al Ashdiqah Foundation of the Philippines, Al-Ukhowah Fil Islam Organization, One Maranao One Muhadarah, Rabbatul Bayt Striving Muslimah Organization, Bandingan Ko Agama, Jamiyyatu Al-Baseerah Bil-Filibin, Royal Sultanate of Lanao (RSL), Royal Sultanate of Pangamponga Masiu, Ittihadul Hedaya Wal-Irsad, Amilbahar Women’s Islamic Seminar Org., and Philippine Councilors League - Lanao del Sur Chapter, alongside esteemed educational institutions in Marawi City, including LCCI, ABSPEC, MIHP, PMTC, DPC, JDIF, KMIA, and JMM.

The event delivered a powerful message, declaring that the people of Palestine are not alone in their struggle, and demanding an immediate end to Israel's attacks on occupied Gaza.

Dr. Bae Okile Mangondato Sharief, the President of LCCI, also shared her sentiments on the importance of continuing the struggles and good deeds of the late Datu Agakhan Mangundato Sharief and the plight of the Mujahideens.

The Mass Rally in Marawi City serves as a testament to the unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine, reinforcing the message that the world must stand together in the pursuit of peace and justice. As the voices of more than 5,000 resonated in Marawi City, the message was clear: 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞.
