Social management techniques exist on two very distinct levels. First, in the corporate world, they refer to the process of getting stakeholders, the community and media involved in hearing from clients and the public. At the same time, social management is also a form of social manipulation where companies use resources at their disposal (such as Facebook, newspaper ads or web pages) to justify certain projects to the public that cause anxiety such as genetic engineering, nuclear power or waste disposal.
