Out ang Star Guard ng Batang Gilas na si Andy Gemao sa FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2024 sa Amman, Jordan.

Nagtamo ng third metacarpal bone fracture si Gemao sa isang tuneup game against Iran.

“It’s an unfortunate situation. We do everything in our power to keep our players healthy,” said Gilas Youth team manager Dean Castaño.

“But it’s a physical sport and these things happen. We wish Andy Gemao a quick and complete recovery and we’ll be here for him during this difficult time.”

Gilas is in Group D with New Zealand, Jordan, and Indonesia. The top four finishers in the tournament will qualify for the FIBA U19 World Cup 2025 in Switzerland.

+4 ang Gilas sa FIBA ranking.

Pang 34th rank ngayon ang Gilas matapos ang kanilang Olympic Qualifying Tournament kung saan nakakuha sila ng Upset WIN kontra sa Latvia at nakapasok pa Semis kontra sa Brazil.

Maganda ang naging result ng pamumuno ni CTC sa team sa kabila ng injuries na natamo ng mga players ng Gilas tulad nila Thompson, Malonzo at Sotto.

Sana ay magpatuloy ang magandang performance ng Gilas at maiwasan ang mga Injuries sa Players.

Tulad ni Coach Nenad ng Meralco Bolts ay magiging active consultant din si Coach Toroman para sa Converge

Kahapon nga lang ay offical nang nagpaalam si Coach Aldin Ayo sa Fiberxers.

Hahawakan ni Coach Toroman ang 1st overall pick na si Baltazar at ang rising star na si Arana.

Magiging maganda kaya ang kahihinatnan ng System ni Toroman sa young and athletic Twin Tower Forwards ni Balti at Arana?

Maganda din itong move ng converge sa muling pagpapasigla ng PBA dahil tiyak na lalakas ang Converge under sa former Gilas Coach Rajko Toroman.

Ganda din ng Block shot ni Abando nung 4th qtr kaso may trailer kaya nakapagovertime pa!
Ganda ng ikot ng bola nung mga pinoy humahawak ng bola hehehe 😅 RJ, Ravena and Heading combination sa crunch time!!!

“New Zealand is really going to be a tough team for us in the FIBA Asia and we are looking forward to measuring up with them because they have handled us easily in the last few years playing against us,”

“We are a really looking forward to locking horns with them on an Asian level. That should be a really, really good fight coming in when they come in,”

“They are not a huge team in terms of a lot of 7-footers. But they are tall across the board. They are all 6-8, 6-9, their forwards are at that height. The guards are 6-5, 6-6.
