MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 3,311 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the country’s overall tally to 286,743 with only 51,894 active cases. Of the active cases, it said that about 86.6 percent are mild, 8.7 percent are asymptomatic, 1.4 percent are severe, and 3.3 percent are in critical condition. The majority of the newly announced cases are from the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,435, the provinces of Negros Occidental with 261, Laguna with 231, Rizal with 204, and Cavite with 174 infections. MANILA – The government is seeking a PHP152.35 billion budget for the implementation of its convergence program on climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction next year. This was according to the Cabinet Cluster on Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction (CCAM-DRR), chaired by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). In a press release Sunday, the Cabinet cluster said the Duterte administration has allotted PHP152.35 billion for the government’s Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) under the 2021 National Expenditure Program it submitted to Congress. MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has warned the public against any form of passport irregularities, in light of the recent apprehension of three foreigners for allegedly attempting to secure Philippine passports from the consular office in Lucena. In a news release, the DFA said operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) nabbed the foreigners for attempting to commit acts in violation of the Philippine Passport Act of 1996 and other related laws.
