MALUNGON, Sarangani Province (February 03, 2022) – A ‘fuming’ Mayor Tessa D. Constantino issued a harsh warning against those fake organizations that are spearheading unlawful incursions' in several IP communities under the guise of being assigned to work on the reclamation of ancestral lands.
“We must follow what the NCIP laws provide on our land claims.
Constantino’s action that was followed by a stern directive for local authorities to apprehend was stressed following reports of various groups that are persuading tribes to come and support their campaign of regaining back the legally acquired or purchased lands without even consulting or visiting the Local Government Unit of the said town.
This stemmed from earlier claims that certain people had been requesting monetary support and membership contributions from the poor and highland dwellers with the promise of giving them a specific piece of land, which ultimately turned out to be a deceptive hoax. (MIO News Team/ ippalma)
