We are humbly knocking on your generous hearts for any amount you are willing to donate to our son, Franz Kyzer M. Padon, who will have a cochlear implant operation at Baguio General Hospital-Medical Center, Baguio City once fund is sufficient.

Our son,at six months old, was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and he was hospitalized for about a month. Though he was able to overcome meningitis, he developed a bilateral profound sensorineural hearing loss and acute symptomatic seizure due to complications. Our son is currently taking up maintenance medications due to his seizures. Like what any parents would do, we consulted our son to a lot of doctors hoping that his hearing can be corrected with a less expensive procedure like hearing aid. However, initial aided and unaided behavioral tests were done and the results showed profound hearing loss on both ears. Thus, our son cannot hear a sound. At the moment, our son is going through a hearing aid trial to help him be comfortable with something attached to his ears.

According to the diagnosis of his audiologists and ENT doctor, the best way to correct his hearing is through cochlear implant. The estimated cochlear implant price is around Php 1,400,000.00 per ear and an estimated professional fees for surgeon, anesthesiologist, pediatrician, and audiologist is Php 250,000.00 per ear. Therefore, we are compelled to tap any resources possible for the operation to push through.
