Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day as we pay tribute to all women of color, race, gender, and age who have made significant efforts in promoting good governance.

At GoodGovPH, we believe that women should be in governance, and women deserve to lead in a community built upon their struggles under a system of patriarchy. Narratives throughout history have taught us that women are effective, efficient, and compassionate leaders capable of addressing social issues.

As good governance advocates, we must empower and support women through transformative leadership in an approach wherein their voices are heard, acknowledged, and respected.

This day is a reminder to break the gender divide because regardless of how difficult battling crises are, we believe that women can.

To all women: break the gender constraints in leadership, education, workplace, and civic spaces. Together, let us change the status quo, and end discrimination, internal misogyny, and sexism.
