SON TO SACADAS | THE ORIGINS. Salvador "Jun" Capulot
SON TO SACADAS | THE ORIGINS. Salvador "Jun" Capulot arrived in Tabugon village almost half-baked from hours of walking almost 15 kilometers under the searing heat. He was around eight. He saw people gathered around something. When he came closer he saw they were around a radio set, the old transistor one with a lawanit back and powered by batteries. They were listening to reports of an encounter between soldiers and rebels in La Carlota City. Jun was a runaway. He fled from his uncle's house in the then remote village of Inapoy in Kabankalan after being maltreated for a long time. Now a mayoral candidate in Iloilo City, the former Bacolod-based reporter reflects on his life and his personal crusade against illegal drugs. | Shot and post produced by Rodney A Jarder Jr
DISCLOSURE: DNX Executive Editor Julius D Mariveles was a colleague of Capulot in the late 90s when he was news chief and production manager of dyEZ Aksyon Radyo Bacolod. Capulot was one of the reporters he supervised.
