Mt. Mandalagan, one of the Trilogy Mountains in Negros Island. With the elevation of 1,885 masl. It is the 3rd highest point in the island of Negros (Mt. Kanlaon, the highest and Mt. Talinis, the 2nd Highest). It is a Potentially Active Volcano and it is actually a part of the Negros Volcanic Belt.🗻🗻 🌄

In the other hand "Tinagong Dagat" (Danao) is a part of Mt. Mandalagan where hikers usually have their overnight camp. It is filled with water (Lagoon-lake) during wet seasons (rainy season) that's why it is called Tinagong Dagat or Danao (Ga-DANAO)🌅🏔️

The Office of the Protected Area Superintendent of the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP) has opened three official trails in Patag in Silay City, Campuestuhan in Talisay City and Canlandog in Murcia effective August 1.

Engr. Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya, OIC provincial environment natural resources officer, in PASu Memorandum Order 11 dated July 22, laid down guidelines in the processing of mountaineering permit major trekking activities within the NNNP.

Trekking will be allowed in the three trails in a weekly interval.

A P300 mountaineering fee will be charged for locals while P500 will be charged for foreigners, the memorandum said.

It also mandates a group ratio of 15 climbers and 30 climbersaee allowed excluding porters and guides.

For every five climbers one tour guide and one porter is required. A tour guide charges P750 per day and another P750 per day for a porter for their services.

The NNNP PASu also strictly implements a "no orientation, no climb policy" and is available both virtual and face-to-face.

A zero- waste commitment is mandatory for all climbers who wish to conduct mountaineering activities inside the NNNP.

To minimize and avoid local transmission of COVID-19 trekkers, porters and guides must practice at all times proper health precautionary measures including social distancing and hand sanitation. Wearing of face masks is highly encouraged.
