Tired?
Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28 is one of the most comforting verses in the Bible. Here, Jesus is extending a personal invitation to anyone who feels weighed down by life’s struggles—whether from work, relationships, sin, or personal worries.
1. An invitation to everyone – Jesus does not limit His invitation by status, wealth, or past mistakes. Anyone who is tired or burdened can come to Him.
2. Weary and burdened – Life often leaves us exhausted, both physically and emotionally. Burdens can include stress, guilt, fear, anxiety, and responsibilities that feel too heavy to carry alone.
3. Promise of rest – Jesus promises rest, which is not just physical relaxation but spiritual renewal and peace. This rest restores our soul, strengthens our faith, and gives hope amidst challenges.
4. Rest through relationship – This rest comes from trusting Him, surrendering our struggles, and walking with Him daily. It is relational, not just situational. When we rely on Jesus, we find peace that surpasses circumstances.
