The closer we are with God, the more we can see our own sin. As we get closer to God we see more and more clearly what pleases God and what does not please him.
God's word is like a mirror, the more we look into it the more imperfections we see in ourselves.

James 4:8 says,
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Living by faith means trusting Him completely because of what you can see and trusting Him more despite what you can’t see. It is choosing to obey Him every day of your life even if you don't understand, even if you can't see His ways. To walk by faith, not by sight is to love God despite of all your unanswered prayers, despite of your fears and worries. Lastly, it is trusting Him with your life until you see Him face to face.

For we live by faith, not by sight.
