I busted my butt. I wiped my brow. I slaved away on tonight's dinner. And because of the heat and humidity I opted to do a Crockpot dinner.
This morning I asked my fun loving, hard working husband what he wanted for dinner. I gave him a list. He said whatever I wanted to make. I furrowed my brow. Hmmm, what should I make? I thought. After thinking about it for a few hours I decided on Chicken Cor'don Blue Casserole. But it was so muggy. So hot and so humid I didn't want to slave away over a hot stove all day. So I made the decision to make it in the crockpot.
I got out my boneless, skinless Chicken breast from Aldi's. I turned the crockpot on high. I diced the Aldi's Chicken breast up and threw it in the pot. I smiled to myself. They were easy to work with, I thought. Then I chopped up some shaved Smoked Ham and tossed that in. I sprinkled Garlic Powder and Morton's Nature Seasoning and Parsley on them. I diced up shaved ham and 8oz of Big Eye Swiss. Then I poured 2 cans of Cream of Mushroom Soup over them with 1 can of Milk and 4 oz of Aldi Cream Cheese in. I gave it a good stir and walk away.
Two hours later I diced up 6 Aldi's Yukon Gold Potatoes. They felt thick and solid. They were firm and they were beautiful! I also tossed several Aldi's Broccoli Florets. I gave it a good stir and walked away.
Two hours later I came in to check on it. I lifted the lid. It was bubbling. The smell was intoxicating! I could have hopped in and bathed in it! I started to get excited. Another 8 oz of Big Eye Swiss went in. I gave it another good stir and walked away.
Two hours later I gave it another good stir and this time I put heaping spoonfuls in my bowl. I sat down. Finally, I thought, I can finally taste it. The smell was intoxicating! I was definitely excited! I took my first bite. The rich comforting taste was eagerly received. It danced in my mouth. It lingered on my tongue. I had total satisfaction. I will have to make this again.
