Prayer for Lent

"Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the many helps You have given us on the path to salvation. We humbly ask that You grant Your whole Church a fruitful Lenten season.

We know that in order to save us because You love us, You suffered unimaginable pain and anguish. During Lent, You call us to take some small sufferings on as penances out of love for You.

We ask You to bless us with a holy Lenten season this year, and we particularly ask today that You help us and all people to grow to a deeper spirit of holy penance this Lent.

Help us to offer every suffering we endure to You and in union with Your suffering. Give us the grace to grow in holiness at every opportunity.

Lord, hear our prayers!

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.. Amen"
