The Shell Recharge charging station has two AC22kW charging points capable of charging 2 vehicles simultaneously with up to 22kWh per charging point. This means an EV with a 60kWh battery can be charged from 0-80% in just a few hours. True to the purpose of sustainable decarbonization, the EV charging location is 100% renewable as it is powered with geothermal energy. This is Shell’s first 100% geothermal-powered charger globally.

An electric vehicle charging station, also known as an EV charging station or point, is a dedicated infrastructure that supplies electric energy to recharge the batteries of electric vehicles. These stations come in various types, including Level 1 (standard household outlets), Level 2 (faster charging, often found in public areas), and Level 3 (DC fast charging, for rapid charging). They play a crucial role in supporting the adoption and usability of electric vehicles by providing convenient locations for users to recharge their EV batteries.

Stellantis N.V. and Leapmotor today announced that Stellantis plans to invest ca. €1.5 billion to acquire approximately 20% of Leapmotor, making Stellantis a significant shareholder. The deal also outlines the formation of Leapmotor International, a 51/49 Stellantis-led joint venture that has exclusive rights for the export and sale, as well as manufacturing, of Leapmotor products outside Greater China. This will be an industry-first global electric vehicle relationship between a leading automaker and a Chinese pure-play NEV OEM.

The partnership aims to further boost Leapmotor’s sales in China, the biggest market in the world, while leveraging Stellantis’ established global commercial presence to significantly accelerate Leapmotor brand sales in other regions, starting with Europe. Stellantis intends to leverage Leapmotor’s highly innovative, cost-efficient EV ecosystem in China to help meet core Dare Forward 2030 electrification targets, with the possibility to further explore mutually beneficial synergies. The joint venture expects to begin shipments in the second half of 2024.

: Ayala Corporation has finalized the deal to be the official Philippine distributor of BYD Global, the world leader in hybrid and pure electric vehicles.

AC Motors head Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said, “this partnership between one of the largest multi-brand automotive groups in the Philippines and the world's leading EV brand is a cornerstone of the group’s goal of accelerating the future of mobility in the country.”

“Our long-term vision is for AC Motors to become the leading platform for EVs and other new energy vehicles in the Philippines. This includes building up BYD to become a key brand in the Philippine market, with leading share among EV brands and meaningful presence in the automotive market as a whole,” he added.

Ayala has been prioritizing the electric mobility vehicles as the enabler of Ayala’s ecosystem. The group is uniquely positioned to provide long-term value to EV customers, given its assets in renewable power generation, automotive distribution and dealerships, property development and management, manufacturing, financing and insurance, and digital connectivity—all of which are critical components of the EV ecosystem.
