We often want to know just how specific His will is whenever we make crucial decisions:
"Should I buy this house? go to this college? marry this person? choose this job?"

The Bible does not answer these kinds of questions specifically. Maybe we need to take our specific questions to the Word of God and see how our desires and questions line up with the truth from God’s Word. We need to use wisdom and discernment as to what is God’s best.

Now, that doesn’t mean God won’t answer a specific prayer we pray. God loves us and often surprises us with exactly what we asked for! But, most of the time it’s wise to allow God’s Word to be our guide, for it has plenty to say about decisions we should make. As we learn from God’s Word and consider asking these questions:
"Would my choice contradict God’s truth or plan? Is this the wisest decision? (financial, relational, emotional, etc.)"

Too often we live with anxiety about making the wrong choice. Chances are strong that we’ll make some decisions we'll regret. Realizing the wrong choices we make often leads us to make better future choices. But no matter the choice we make, God’s love for us never increases nor diminishes. He’s absolutely smitten with us. God’s transformative power changes us. With a renewed mind that is led by God’s Spirit, we can discern God’s best for our lives.

I am taking care of you. Sometimes you feel alone and vulnerable - exposed to the "elements" of a fallen world, When you are feeling this way, stop and remind yourself "Jesus is taking care of me." This reminder can comfort you and help you relax. It draws you back from obsessing about the future, trying to figure out and orchestrate what will happen.

When circumstances are confusing and you don't know which way to proceed, remember that you are in My watchcare. I know everything about you and your situation. I also know the future. A child in a good family with adequate resources doesn't need to know how his parents will provide for him tomorrow, next week, next year. You are in the best Family imaginable, and My resources are absolutely unlimited! So bring Me all your needs and concerns. Entrust them to Me and live contidently - as a child of the King of kings! Relax and rejoice, for I am taking good care of you.

Whenever we feel daunted by the pressures of life, or feel insecure and insufficient to fulfill our responsibilities, remember that it is a natural feeling. By ourselves, we will always fall short of our divine goals but never with Christ! Jesus can do a lot with a little. If we offer to Jesus the little we have, He can multiply it and meet the needs of all the people who needs to be served.

Jesus was efficient, organised and practical. He divides tasks among His people for better management. He was able to spread His good news with a handful of disciples that He sent off by twos. He was able to feed thousands from a few loaves and a couple of fish.

Christ's instructions might sound unbelievable, irrational, or contradictory to the laws of Physics. But we have to remember that natural laws, human ideals, or moral standards do not define the Lord's abilities. Rather, the Divine Creator defines the limitations of His creations by His own standards.

Even when we are doing what Jesus tells us to do, it is sometimes very difficult and hard work. There are times when we feel troubled and filled with fear and dread when confronted by trials and tribulations. Like the disciples who were straining with the waves as they paddled against the wind, Jesus' presence provided comfort when He climbed into the boat with them.

The difference that Jesus makes to our lives is very significant. It is an uphill struggle unless we are conscious of Jesus’ presence with us. Only those who recognise Jesus can enjoy this relationship. "Those who did recognize Him ran towards Him and all who touched Him were healed" (Mark 6:55-56).

I am the Word of Life - eternal Life. I have always existed: I am that which was from the beginning. Moreover, I am divine. This divine Word brings Life to all who believe in Me.

From the beginning of creation, words have been associated with life. Originally, the earth was formless, empty, and dark. Then I said, "Let there be light," and there was light. I spoke everything into existence, including all the plants and animals. Finally, I spoke mankind into being.

The Life I offer you is eternal. It begins when you trust Me as your only Savior-but it never ends. You can enjoy immense freedom through knowing there is no condemnation for you. I have forever set you free from the law of sin and death! The best response to this glorious gift is grateful Joy - delighting in the One who loves you perfectly and eternally. Remember that I am always near you, closer than the air you breathe.

God's Commandments were not given as a ladder that people had to climb up to get into His presence. Rather they were a God-given pattern of life for those who had already known God’s grace and redemption.

These laws were designed to limit evil. For example, there is a right to self-defence, but not to use excessive force in self-defence (Ex 22:2–3). There is also the prohibition against escalating violence and the provision of an equivalent penalty – ‘life for life, eye for eye…’ and so on (Ex 21:23–25). The law was clearly designed for judges and not for private individuals ( see Deut 19:18–21). It was a guide for judges and sentencing.

The laws helped to build a community that had inter- dependence and mutual accountability as its basis. Each regulation, however strange, helped the people to learn how to belong together and care for each other. This is a lesson we all need to learn, particularly in the independent and isolated environment of 21st century living. We do not follow rules and regulations just because we have to, but because they help us to treat each person as someone made in the image of God.

Laws are not given to restrict our freedom, but to safeguard it. They help us enjoy the freedom of living in a relationship with God, showing us how to live a holy life just as God is holy. Our love for God flows out from, and is a response to, God’s love for us.

Are you in a time of trouble, distress or difficulty? When we have days of distress, call out to God in prayer, asking Him to bring salvation and freedom in the midst of struggle. It is not a matter of foolhardy optimism, but rather one of realistic faith.

David recognises God’s ‘saving power’ – His power to bring freedom. In Psalms 20, He speaks of six things that we can ask for our self, our family, our friends and our community. These are: Protection, Help, Support, Acceptance, Success, Victory.

Success, victory and freedom do not come from trusting in ‘chariots’ and ‘horses’. Rather, they come through faith. In the service of God we find perfect freedom. God’s desire is for His people to be set free to worship Him throughout the whole of life. He wants to set us free from guilt, shame, sin, addiction, or fear. He wants to set us free to love, serve and worship Him.

"Do not fear, for I am with you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Let these words enfold you like a warm blanket,sheltering you from the coldness of fear and discouragement. When trouble seems to be stalking you, grip My hand tightly and stay in communication with Me. You can trust and not be afraid, for I am your Strength and Song. My powerful Presence is with you always. You face nothing alone! Moreover, I have promised to strengthen you and help you.

My strong hand supports you in both good times and bad. When things are going well in your life, you may not be attentive to My sustaining Presence. When you declare the wonders of My loving Presence, you are strengthened and encouraged. This glorious blessing flows into you more fully as you speak these words out loud. Let this delightful declaration fill you with Joy inexpressible and full of Glory!

Ponder some of the qualities of My amazing Love: It is sacrificial, unfailing, priceless, boundless - reaching to the heavens. It shines so brightly that it can carry you through your darkest days. When you get to the end of each day, it is time to proclaim My faithfulness that reaches to the skies. Look back over the day, and notice how I helped you navigate your way through it.
