BAGONG KAGAMITAN NG PHILIPPINE ARMY๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
Two armored vehicle-launched bridge (AVLB) units that will provide game-changing capabilities for the Armyโ€™s engineer combat battalions are due for post-delivery technical inspection after they were shipped to the Batangas Port, Batangas City.
The AVLBs will be inspected by the Technical Inspection and Acceptance Committee of the Department of National Defenseโ€™s Procurement Service before acceptance and deployment to the Army's engineer combat battalions.
The new combat engineer assets, procured through a Philippine-Israel government-to-government deal, are part of Horizon Two of the Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program. The assets will boost the capabilities of Army engineer combat battalions in supporting maneuver units by providing mobility during operations.
The AVLB is a combat support vehicle, sometimes regarded as a sub-type of military engineering vehicle, designed to assist militaries in rapidly deploying tanks and other armored vehicles across rivers or other gap-type obstacles.

PH-CHINA LAUNCHES SAMAL ISLAND-DAVAO CITY CONNECTOR PROJECT

It is all systems go for the design and build of Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

A launching ceremony of the bridge project to be funded by Official Development Assistance (ODA) from People's Republic of China (PRC) was held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Main Office in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

The scale model of the 3.98 kilometers Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project was formally unveiled by visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi; Ambassador Huang Xilian of the Peopleโ€™s Republic of China in the Republic of the Philippines; DFA Secretary Enrique A. Manalo; and DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain.

The event was also highlighted by the unveiling of commemorative plaque for Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project.

Secretary Bonoan said that the construction of toll-free, four-lane Samal Island-Davao City Connector is good news to commuters and motorists in Davao Region as it will connect in five (5) minutes the beautiful Island Garden City of Samal and the highly urbanized Davao City.

This means faster travel time, less traffic gridlock and improved productivity affecting around 25,000 vehicles traversing these areas on a daily basis, added Secretary Bonoan.

The Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project seeks to enhance internal mobility and external linkages to support the economic and tourist growth potential of the local region.

The project is the first loan agreement of the Government of the Philippines and the Peopleโ€™s Republic of China for an infrastructure project under implementation of DPWH Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations.

A flagship project under the Build Build Build program, the Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project is a key Government-to-Government cooperation project between the Philippines and China. Implementation will be started this year 2022 and targetted for completion by 2027.

Undersecretary Sadain, in-charge of DPWH UPMO Operations, said that the bilateral relations between the Philippines and China have significantly grown especially with the completion of the two (2) China-grant bridges namely Estrella-Pantaleon and Binondo-Intramuros Bridges which has become a landmark tourist attraction because of their aesthetic and iconic design.

With an indicative cost of โ‚ฑ23.039-billion, Samal Island-Davao City Connector Project is envisioned as a modern bridge that will connect the Samal Circumferential Road in Barangay Limao, Island Garden City of Samal to Davao City in between R. Castillo-Daang Maharlika junction.

Crossing over Pakiputan Strait, Samal Island-Davao City Connector has a width of 24 meters and a vertical navigational clearance up to 47 meters and will also be supported by two (2) pylons with a height of 73 meters.

SLEX TR5: EXPRESSWAY CONNECTING QUEZON PROVINCE TO BICOL REGION๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Last June, PNCC, TRB & SMC made the Supplemental Toll Operation Agreement for South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 5.

The 420-kilometer SLEX-TR5 which will connect Quezon province and the Bicol region is dubbed by SMC as a โ€œgame-changingโ€ infrastructure project which could help the Philippine economy get back on track following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The project is a extension of the South Luzon Expressway starting from SLEX TR4 in Brgy. Mayao, Lucena City Quezon, ending at the Matnog Ferry Terminal in Sorsogon.

It is a P26.38 billion investment under a build-operate-transfer scheme with a concession period of 30 years.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Tuesday announced that the first two of three SPYDER air defense missile systems will be delivered by the last quarter of this year.

Battery refers to the grouping of missile launchers. A normal battery consists of three or more missile launchers.

SPYDER is short for Surface-to-Air Python and Derby mobile-air defense system that was developed by the Israeli defense technology firm, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, with assistance from Israel Aerospace Industries.

Mariano added that the last SPYDER battery will be delivered along with a missile maintenance facility which will be built in the Philippines, giving military personnel the capability to maintain the weapon system.

Proposed military - industrial complex between Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต and the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ ...
In the soon to rise Defense Industry Economic Zone in Bataan, Philippines.
Where Japan intends to manufacture, develop, and mass produce, ARMORED VEHICLES, AMMUNITION, SATELLITES, etc, with a proposed provision for technology transfer for the armored vehicles which may include ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIERS, INFANTRY FIGHTING VEHICLES, TRUCKS, etc.
The way I see it, the most probable armored vehicles based on the most latest variant, which are also exportable, profitable, and that could be mass produced in the country are the:
TYPE 96 Armored Personnel Carrier - ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต
One of the most latest Armored Personnel Carrier of Japan, the Japanese government also plans to develop an improved variant of the Type 96 with better protection and design.
The Type 96 could be added among the list of wheeled armored personnel carriers of the Philippine Army, ( proposal / estimation ) roughly around 100 + Type 96 Armored Personnel Carrier, if this push through.
The Philippine Marines and the Philippine National Police, SWAT, and the Philippine National Police Special Action Force could also use the Type 96 Armored Personnel Carrier.
The other one is the -
TYPE 89 Infantry Fighting Vehicle - ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต
One of the most latest Infantry Fighting Vehicle of Japan. The Type 89 Infantry Fighting Vehicle could replace the aging fleet of Infantry Fighting Vehicle of the Philippine Army which is the AIFV 25 and M113 infantry fighting vehicle.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines doesn't really have a proper Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the Armed Forces of the Philippines instead uses most of it's Armored Personnel Carriers as Infantry Fighting Vehicles, isn't a high time for the Armed Forces of the Philippines to acquire some infantry fighting vehicles as well?
The Type 89 could be added among the list of infantry fighting vehicle of the Philippine Army, ( proposal / estimation ) roughly around 30 to 60 + Type 89 Infantry Fighting Vehicle, if this push through.
SQUAD VEHICLE CHARLIE / LIGHT Tactical ARMORED VEHICLE - ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
The most latest armored vehicle ( still a prototype ) that is currently being developed in the Philippines, is the Squad Vehicle Charlie, if the proposed military - industrial complex pushes through, local defense/security companies could also benefit from it as the Philippine and Japan could jointly develop, improve, mass produce, and export our very own light armored vehicle, which is the squad vehicle charlie.
The squad vehicle charlie could be a troop carrier, reconnaissance vehicle, scout vehicle, ammunition carrier, emergency vehicle/ambulance, logistical vehicle, etc.
If successful, Japan and other countries could also use our very own Squad Vehicle Charlie Light Tactical Armored Vehicle as well, ( proposal / estimation ) the Armed Forces of the Philippine might need 100 + Squad Vehicle Charlie all throughout the services for various purposes.
The Philippine National Police, SWAT, and the Philippine National Police Special Action Force could also use the Squad Vehicle Charlie Light Armored Vehicle.
It is the first step -
I assume all of the armored vehicles stated above, are also for exports and could be sold elsewhere around the world, as Japan are now readying to open and export their locally made military assets around the world, the Japanese government chooses to invest in the Philippines to jointly develop and improve the military industries of both countries.
