The Philippines is facing severe levels of hunger. And only a number has done something to lessen the crisis of those suffering from it.

DID YOU KNOW?

The number of people experiencing hunger increases exponentially everyday. 822 million people go starving in streets looking for decent food to eat. With that 822 million people, 14 million are children five years old and below who are severely malnourished. And around 5.2 million families are suffering from hunger and this increased the country's hunger rate from 8.8% on 2018 to 20.9% in 2020.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We all need to be aware of the situation our country is facing. It might not be you or your friend or your classmate experiencing this, but those who are in the streets and in the slums. If you want change, then this change starts with you. Use your voice to help those in need.

People around the world experience hunger that results in malnutrition, or worse, death. 822 million people are currently experiencing severe levels of hunger. Of which, 14 million children below 5 years of age are severely malnourished, but since 75% have no access to treatment, 3.1 million children die every year. In 2020 alone, 7.1 million people died from hunger.

And amidst the global pandemic, not only are people dying from the CoVid-19 virus, but it could also significantly increase the number of undernourished people. In the Philippines, according to CNN, 5.2 million more families are suffering from hunger. This increased the country's hunger rate from 8.8% in 2018, to 20.9% in 2020.
