NORTH KOREA - Kaesong city also known as the "City of Pines" (송도; 松都; Songdo)

A rare glimpse into a country so surrounded with mystery.

Kaesong city, or Kaesong Industrial Region, is a city close to the DMZ (Demilatirized Zone), where the MDL (Military Demarcation Line) forms the border of North and South Korea.

This line was formed as a result of the Korean Armistice Agreement, which was signed in 1953 to end the Korean War that came to a stalemate with no winning country.

Kaesong City was once the capital of the Koryo Dynasty (918-1392), holds centuries of rich culture and tradition.

The Kaesong Industrial Region, symbolized a period of cooperation on the Korean pennisular, offering a rare glimpse of potential unification and economic integration.

The fluctuating political relationship between North and South Korea has significantly impacted Kaesong. The closure of the Kaesong Industrial Region in 2016 due to political tensions underscored the fragility of inter-Korean cooperation.

While the city has faced numerous challenges, it remains a symbol of both division and potential reunification on the Korean Peninsula.

Shot from: Dora Observatory, Paju, South Korea, an observatory post within the Demilitarized Zone. All photos were shot through a glass window, and weather conditions were very hazy.

"Undisputed King of the Road"
- A Filipino Cultural Icon

Will they vanish from the Philippines' roads.

Jeeney - commonly known as Jeep serves as the Public Utility Vehicles for the Philippines.

Jeepneys are more than just a mode of transportation in the Philippines? 🌟 These vibrant vehicles are an integral part of Filipino culture, weaving through bustling streets and connecting communities.

A Living Legacy:
Originally repurposed from U.S. military jeeps after World War II, jeepneys have become a symbol of resilience, creativity, and adaptability.

Their kaleidoscope of colors and intricate designs reflects the Filipino spirit.

But will they vanish from the Philippines’ roads? As modernization and environmental concerns loom, the fate of these rolling cultural icons hangs in the balance.

Cultures Crossroad

Who we are: "We are story tellers. No, not bed time story tellers. But we want to tell stories, that will change the way you live and breathe. Stories that will bring you to the darkest corner of the earth, and unearth the beauty of resilience. Stories that will make you cringe in fear, but show you the beauty of humanity in adversity. Stories of the voiceless, least among us. We want to bring you through our stories, to that crossroad where cultures collide in harmony. Yes, we are nothing more than just ordinary story tellers, telling you about the extraordinary. That's who we are. Story tellers.

-- Joshua (Cultures Crossroad.)
