When it comes to clan management and alliance management, these things apply. (MMORPGs in general, but naturally MIR4 related)
1. You're only as strong as the people around you. If your Battle Rating (Power Score in Mir) is the highest in the clan, you have to make sure your clan isn't that far behind. Or you'll die alone.
2. Clan and Alliance harmony is crucial. Hierarchy systems only work when it's not forced on the people and there are clear cut criteria for rewards. Give them something to look forward to or reach, free to play or not. Those goals should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achieveable, Relevant, and Time Based). If harmony fails. You will fail.
3. Equality is not possible, but fairness is. Rewards shouldn't favor the few, but benefit the clan and alliance in general.
4. Never forget that your members are people, they are not robots. They are people from different walks of life. Different backgrounds. Different values. Do not expect to survive an MMORPG if you cannot accept that fact.
5. If you spend a lot on an MMORPG, a real player won't think about what they spent. Real players think about the fact that this will benefit them and boost their clan in the process. Which will then start a cascading effect and make your entire group stronger.
We are only as good as the weakest person in our Clan/Alliance/Collective. We lead through example. We lead through fairness. We lead through relationships. Not money.
You can be the strongest person in the game. But if you stand alone, you're nothing.
